Helping area 8th graders talk about their future financial choices and budgeting, it's a yes for us! Over 5,400 students from 44 schools participated in the Kirkwood Workplace Learning financial literacy fair. Basepoint Wealth's Director of Operations Katie Kula and Director of Marketing Shelley Woods were invited to help mentor students and discuss budgeting options. One student wisely reflected, "The best part about the fair was getting to learn the causes and effects of the choices you made and how it could affect your choices later in life."

United Way of East Central Iowa brought together 1,600 volunteers yesterday to complete 145 projects for 50 area non-profits with 7,000 volunteer hours! We look forward to helping make a difference each year for the annual day of caring event.
