Founded in 1970, Earth Day is an annual event that was created to remind companies, schools, individuals, governments and other organizations the importance of learning about and remembering the effects pollution can have on the planet. The initiative strives to promote environmental responsibility and change on a global scale. Earth day will be celebrated in 2024 on April 22nd, and this year’s theme is “Planet vs. Plastic”. What many people may not realize is that plastic can be harmful to both the environment and their health. Plastics are harmful to the environment and all living creatures. The annual celebration encourages people to show their support for the protection of the planet. A wide variety of events take place across many countries and cities, including Houston, through numerous organizations. According to Earthday.org, they are committed to reduce plastic production by 60% by 2040. The goal is for everyone to work together to create a more sustainable world for future generations. Success depends on the efforts of everyone! Happy Earth Day! #happyearthday #earthday2024
