For five months during this year, the Peaceful Symphony project by "Somos Pacífico" transformed lives in Comuna 21, Cali. With 403 music instruments workshops and 89 music sessions, young participants learned to play instruments like violin and piano, while also developing emotional and social skills in a safe space for peacebuilding. Through music and psychosocial support, 183 young children exceeded their goals, finding hope and unity in a high-violence area.  Music became their tool for personal and community transformation. Our journey of impact continues!  Bastion's Annual Report is here, showcasing a year of transformative projects, community stories, and milestones.  The focus on Bastion’s philanthropic advisory activities has been to offer personalized services to individuals and institutions wishing to support programs that improve educational outcomes and enhance the quality of life for children and their families. Unlocking Potential Did you know that only in 2023 our donors helped almost 130,000 people by supporting 30 projects in 9 countries?  At Bastion, we have been working since 2016 towards a more equal and prosperous society.  We believe in the life-changing power of education, and its transformative potential in communities.  Education allows people to make informed decisions about their lives, promotes critical thinking and civic participation. This virtues are crucial for stronger democracies in Latin America.  In the region, teachers salaries are low, school infrastructures are poor and there are very few innovative initiatives.  Therefore, private investment plays a fundamental role in complementing the resources allocated to education to improve the quality and accessibility of education in Latin America. Acompañadas is an initiative founded by Lis, a Venezuelan single mother migrant, who understands firsthand the needs of other mothers in her situation.  From one of the most vulnerable neighborhoods in Manaus, she has dedicated her life to support women facing the same challenges she once did.  Thanks to a donation facilitated by Bastion, Lis has been able to hire a consultant to transform her experience and knowledge into a replicable intervention model. This will not only systematize her work but also open doors to secure more funding for its implementation. As part of the project, a pilot program will also be developed to test the model and ensure its future success.  This is a unique opportunity to continue changing lives and ensure that more migrant single mothers receive the support they need.
