This week is National Fire Prevention Week from October 6-12, 2024, it's the perfect time for Florida businesses to revisit and strengthen their fire safety practices. Practice fire drills regularly to keep everyone prepared. 3.     Conduct Fire Safety Training: Educate your team on fire hazards, prevention methods, and how to respond in case of an emergency. Simple steps, like proper handling of flammable materials, can prevent accidents. This week (May 6-10) is National Safety Stand-Down Fall Protection Week. Fatalities caused by falls from elevation continue to be a leading cause of death for construction employees, accounting for 395 of the 1069 construction fatalities recorded in 2022 (BLS data). Those deaths were preventable. The National Safety Stand-Down raises fall hazard awareness across the country in an effort to stop fall fatalities and injuries. A Safety Stand-Down is a voluntary event for employers to talk directly to employees about safety. Any workplace can hold a stand-down by taking a break to focus on "Fall Hazards" and reinforcing the importance of "Fall Prevention".
