💎 Applications for internships are now OPEN! 💎 Our summer internship program provides students with meaningful work experiences in their program of study and an increased awareness of our work environment. Interns have the opportunity to apply what they have learned in school in a professional setting while becoming familiar with BIW’s organizational structure, business practices and the shipbuilding process. The intern will gain valuable experience while contributing to BIW in a significant manner. Typical department placements include; Engineering, Design, Finance, Supply Chain/Quality, Manufacturing Operations, Safety, Human Resources, Cyber Security and Information Technology. Today we kick off the #WayToGOMAINECHALLENGE. Go Maine will be visiting the yard on Oct. 10 and 28 to help people find rides as well as car and vanpools. New this year, GO MAINE will do a Zoom Lunch and Learn on Oct. 16, too, highlighting the benefits including rewards people can earn for telecommuting. BIW will celebrate our 140th anniversary as a company in October. As part of our recognition of this milestone, we would like to highlight the families who have the most number of people employed at BIW. If you have more than 10 members of your extended family working at BIW, we want to know! Parents, brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles, cousins, second cousins, in-laws, stepchildren/step-siblings, grandparents all count as part of the extended family. If you have more than 10 members of your family currently working at BIW, please send an email with your name and the list of family members to communications@gdbiw.com. In the email identify who will be the contact and include a phone number, email address (personal email is fine) and supervisor of the contact person for your family group.
