🐝 Palmer Recovery Center was buzzing today, as Corine guided us through a new breathing technique called Bee Breath. We were able to clear our mind and focus on the joyful movement practice ahead. 🧘♀️🧘♂️🧘 After some gentle strengthening and movement, we calmed the mind back down, with a guided breathing gratitude meditation. 💗 Thank you to all who came out. If you couldn’t make it, Corine is here every Friday to give us new relaxation tools each week! #Namaste #OmShanti #Mindfulness #Meditation #Breath #TogetherWeRise #Impact2024

Lunch Break !! Our first semester, Moravian University Nursing Student Interns are working hard today on their weekly rotation at our Veterans Resource Center in Allentown. As you can see, Toby and Elliot are NOT 👎🏼 They are just loafing around doing typical mascot things while we're working on changing the lives of veterans, first responders, and their families 🤣 #Toby #Elliot #TobyWanKanobi #SirElliot #VRC #TheyAreBattleBorne #TeamBattleBorne #TogetherWeRise #VeteransResourceCenter #Impact2024 #MakingADifferenceIn2024

New service available starting this Monday September 16th. What are the benefits of Massage Therapy, you ask?? Massage is very important for people with anxiety, PTSD, and mental health as well as for people in recovery from SUD. Why?? Because people with these types of conditions have a difficult time relaxing. Introducing massage therapist, Michele Gubish, US Navy Veteran. Michele was an F-14 mechanic at Miramar. She is a LMT who will be providing massage therapy for our veterans at our Battle Borne Veterans Resource Center in Allentown. She will be hitting these target areas. If you would like to receive a free massage and experience the benefits of relaxation, please follow the instructions on the flyer to schedule your appointment between 12:00 and 2:00 starting this Monday. It will continue on the last Monday of each month moving forward. Remember #TogetherWeRise #Meditation #Mindfulness #RelaxationTherapy

A moment of silence 🔕 We will never forget the tragic events on 9/11. Nor will we forget how this country came together on 9/12 and the impact of what happens when one American lends a hand to another 🇺🇲 On this day 23 years ago, 246 people got ready for their morning flights. 2,606 people woke up early in preparation for work. 343 firefighters got ready for their morning shift. 60 police officers prepared for morning patrol. 8 paramedics rose in preparation for the morning shift of saving lives. None of them saw past 10:00 am Sept 11, 2001. 2,977 lives lost, and countless others impacted in the wars that followed. As we reflect on the sacrifices made that day and in the years since, we honor the first responders who answered the call and the service members who continued to protect our nation 💜 #WeRemember #CarryTheFallen #TogetherWeRise #9Eleven2001 #Remembering911🇺🇸🗽✈️

Thank you to everyone who came out today for Yoga For Everyone & Everyday with Corine as we practiced Satya or truthfulness. Some longer holds in poses required us to be honest with what needed at each moment. After an hour of mindfulness and hip-opening, we enjoyed some bagels brought by Top (Michael). What a balanced day filled with self-care and joy. Playfully, this yoga group is now considering being renamed as "Bends and Bagels." 🥯 😂 Thank you to all who came out, and if you missed us, we hope to see you next week! 🧘🏻♂️🧘♀️🕉 #Namaste #OmShanti #Mindfulness #Meditation #Breath #Relaxation #StressRelief #FreePrograms #Impact2024 #MakingADifferenceIn2024 #REDFriday #RememberEveryoneDeployed

September is also National Recovery Month. Recovery is sometimes a misconstrued concept. In our experience, a lot of people hear "recovery" and automatically assume that it is referring to recovering from drugs and/or alcohol. We here at BATTLE BORNE know all too well that people are recovering from many challenges. Not just substance abuse disorder. Recovery can include healing from many other circumstances. Some include: PTSD, mental health disorders, MST, mora injury, physical injuries, financial instabilities, and trauma. Just name a few... Our mission is to help veterans in any of these areas when possible. Wearebattleborne.com Ask us how you can join the mission 🇺🇲 #TogetherWeRise #WeDoRecover #Healing #PrideNotEgo #HelpIsPossible #Impact2024 #NationalRecoveryMonth

September is National Suicide Prevention Month!! This month serves as powerful reminder that there are steps we all can take in looking out for our veterans, first responders, loved ones, the people in our community, and those who have been impacted by this leading cause of death such as families and friends. Common Warning Signs Talking about: 1. Feeling unbearable pain. 2. Death or a recent fascination with death. 3. Feeling hopeless, worthless, or trapped 4. Feeling guilt, shame, or anger. 5. Feeling like they are a burden to others. These are just a few.... If you observe the following behaviors or experience any of these thoughts or feelings, you should immediately connect with professional help, such as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, emergency medical services, or a mental health professional. Together, we can help others and, more importantly, ourselves #TogetherWeRise #SuicidePreventionMonth #HelpIsPossible #LetsEndSuicide #StopTheStigma
