We've been busy working on the design for the relocation of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology's Paris (Henry/Carroll) campus to a new 20-acre site in Paris, Tennessee. This campus features technical shop-based programs, traditional classrooms, an economic development center with a banquet hall and exhibition space, and a defined courtyard. The architecture of the campus reflects the technical nature of the instruction within the building. Likewise, the central focus of the economic development functions at the forefront of the building, will reflect the TCAT and Board of Regents core commitment to supporting the economic development of the communities they serve. #collegedesign #architecture #economicdevelopment

Earlier this year I was fortunate enough to attend the 59th Annual American Advertisement Award, and accept the silver addy award on behalf of Bauer Askew Architecture. Many thanks to the firm's principals for the chance to contribute to the project and for this valuable experience. I had a fantastic time at the event and enjoyed making new connections in the world of advertising.

Yesterday we celebrated another project milestone for one of our higher education projects! The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Crump @ Parsons campus includes diesel power technology, heavy equipment technology and truck driving programs for students. Our design included a diesel mechanics lab, truck driving classrooms, industrial maintenance and heavy equipment labs. #TCAT #TBR #highereducationtn

CSDG is proud to work with St. Joseph Church & School in Madison, TN, providing civil engineering services for phased campus improvements. Over the last several years, enrollment for the school has grown and Phase 1A, currently in progress, involves extending and widening the pick-up and drop-off, adding more green spaces and developing a new playground closer to the school for increased safety. Phase 1B and 1C will create additional parking to accommodate larger events and alleviate parking on the street. The final iteration of Phase 1 will be an athletic field for soccer, football and other activities. A new multi-purpose facility is planned in Phase 2, designed to house administrative offices, some classroom space, performance space, concessions, gymnasium, and locker rooms. Our team had a great time at the Inspire Nashville vendor expo yesterday! We learned that there is a lot of innovation happening in building products used for interior spaces, including improvements in the design and application of flooring, wall coverings, and lighting elements. These features help spark joy & make the spaces more user friendly. We also noted a lot of overlap in the materiality and application processes between architectural elements and interior finishes, opening up more opportunities for a highly collaborative design process.
