Bay Area Medical Academy's medical assisting with phlebotomy and EKG program exceeds the medical assistant requirements in California, and employers know it. This is one of the many reasons why UCSF partnered with us to sponsor our two free* class starting on October 28th. If you want to hear more about these classes and you meet the criteria below, book an appointment to speak with us today. Qualifying criteria for classes: --A San Francisco resident. --Have high school diploma or GED (NB: those people with a completed bachelor’s degree or higher education do not qualify). --Have at least one full course vaccination for COVID-19 (meaning a complete bivalent vaccine or an updated 2023-2024 single dose vaccine (If you don't meet these criteria, then we still have medical assisting classes available every month for which funding and scholarships are available -- so be sure to speak to us about those classes!) *Although the class is free, students will be required to complete FAFSA. #BayAreaMedicalAcademy #MedicalAssistantTrainingSchool #MedicalAssistantStudent #CareerTraining #HealthcareTraining #UCSF

Many people wonder if you can be a phlebotomist with a medical assistant (MA) certificate. The answer is technically—no. In California, you’ll also need a CPT-1 license. While you can draw blood without a CPT-1 license if you are being supervised by a physician, you’re not allowed to do so independently. This is why BAMA offers a 3-in-1 medical Assisting with phlebotomy program specifically designed to cater to the high demand for the phlebotomy skill set among medical assistants. It’s a solution that makes our MA graduates better job candidates. Speak to us about our popular and employer-recommended 3-in-1 medical assisting with phlebotomy program by connecting with us at bamasf.edu or by calling 415-943-2028. #BayAreaMedicalAcademy #MedicalAssistingTrainingSchool #MedicalAssistantClasses #MedicalAssistantStudent #PhlebotomyStudent #CPT1License #CareerTraining #HealthCareTraining
