Bayview has been in existence since 1961 and we are no strangers to the necessity of change, growth, and innovation. We are currently in the middle of a building-wide window and deck enhancement project that will bring new energy-saving benefits. Here is a glimpse of our brand new windows. Photos were taken in the same exact spot in front of the 130-year-old black maple tree. (Left image: 1961 and right image: today)

Meet Yegor, Bayview's Intergenerational Children's Center Program Assistant: Born and raised in Russia, Yegor brings a wealth of knowledge in linguistic and cultural experiences to his role at Bayview's Intergenerational Children's Center (ICC). With a Bachelor's degree and Master degree in Linguistics, Foreign Languages Teaching, and Cultures, Yegor is fluent in English, Russian, and Spanish. His love for languages has taken him on adventures to South Korea, Egypt, France, and Mexico. For Yegor, the ICC has provided him with invaluable hands-on experience in child language development. "I absolutely love the children and the families I interact with," Yegor shares. "Our intergenerational program is truly special, fostering connections between generations. Some of the residents have already become our kids’ school grandmas and grandpas" Thank you for living out Bayview's mission, Yegor!

In honor and celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we asked Julian, Bayview's Building Operations Manager, what does it mean to celebrate and honor your Mexican culture?: "My Mexican heritage is everything to me. I'm proud of where I come from. Growing up in Acapulco with eight siblings, we were very close. My parents were hardworking farmers, that taught us the importance of family, perseverance, and always finding joy in life. I love sharing the richness of Mexican culture – the food, the music, the history, and traditions. But most of all, I carry the value of family with me. I want people to see what the Latino community brings to the table. We're caring, family oriented, and love to enjoy life together. " This month and every month, we celebrate the beauty and richness that different cultures bring in community. #happyhispanicheritagemonth

Cultivating community, serving together, and meaningful outreach. Bayview was a proud sponsor of the Lake Union Rotary Club’s Happy Hour 4 Good event last week. The event raised over $12,500 and benefitted the Lake Union Rotary Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that supports domestic and international organizations like Splash International. Splash’s mission is to transform children’s lives through clean water, sanitation, and hygiene programs. Truly, a beautiful evening supporting an impactful cause. Thanks for having us!
