Raising Hope. Targeting Ovarian Cancer
About us
The foundation was formed by four ovarian cancer survivors in different phases of survivorship who all share the passion to Be the Difference and end the fight against ovarian cancer. The mission of Be The Difference Foundation is to help women increase their chance of survival of ovarian cancer. Be The Difference Foundation achieves this goal by focusing on raising awareness and money to fund programs for women fighting ovarian cancer today and to provide research dollars for a cure. With over $2.0M raised to date BTDF has funded research programs at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Mary Crowley Cancer Research Center, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, UT Southwestern and University of Pennsylvania; supported The Clearity Foundation in helping women improve treatment decisions in recurrent and progressive ovarian cancer patients through molecular profiling and provided funds for the Lazarex Cancer Foundation to provide women battling ovarian cancer with assistance toward costs for clinical trial participation. Ovarian cancer is the most lethal gynecological cancer, affecting 1 in 70 women. Today, more than 70% of ovarian cancer patients will die of their disease. When ovarian cancer is detected and treated early, the five year survival rate is greater than 92%. Sadly, symptoms are vague and subtle, so most patients are diagnosed at later stages, and less than 50% will survive more than 5 years after their diagnosis. There is no reliable, routine early detection tool to test for ovarian cancer in all women. A Pap test does not detect ovarian cancer. It is time to change these statistics for our mothers, daughters, sisters and girlfriends and be the difference in the fight against ovarian cancer today! Be The Difference Foundation’s signature fundraising event, Wheel to Survive, are now held in Dallas, Austin, Houston, Denver and San Francisco. Join us at one of these events to Be The Difference in the fight against ovarian cancer!

We’re deeply grateful to Seth Rudetsky for dedicating a moment in his programming to discuss the impactful journey of those affected by ovarian cancer, including his mother-in-law and the remarkable Broadway star Laurie Beechman. Seth’s voice lends tremendous support to raising awareness around ovarian cancer, while still honoring the memories of those who lost their fight. Thank you, Seth, for helping keep the conversation alive and spreading hope. 💙 #OvarianCancerAwareness #SethRudetsky #OvarianCancer

Strength in Sisterhood and Resilience I'm honored to share a beautiful story I helped secure for Be the Difference Foundation - the journey of three W.T. White graduates who reunited decades later through their shared battle with ovarian cancer. Their inspiring bond is a testament to the power of friendship, endurance, and community support. These women have turned their personal struggles into a mission to spread awareness and uplift others through their work with Be the Difference Foundation. A special thank you to People Newspapers for bringing their story to life and helping raise awareness about ovarian cancer. Together, we can make a difference! Read more about their incredible journey and the importance of community. #BeTheDifference #OvarianCancerAwareness

Esther was diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian cancer in 2002. Her journey wasn’t easy, but she’s so thankful to God, her family, and friends that were there supporting her every step of the way. She’s a 20+ year survivor. #ovariancancersurvivor #survivorstories
