Journaling and writing can be a powerful way for us to process. So today we are sharing a practice: Journaling and writing. Get friends, family, community together to write. Or maybe make time to write with your therapist or wellness practitioner. Use these affirmation prompts to help you begin to process. If in groups remember: To be heard and validated is often what people need, not always advice. However you choose to engage, make time to process and recommit to creating a world where everyone feels cared for even in their most difficult moments. Save these journal prompts for reflection during your quiet moments 🙇🏾♂️📝 #SuicideAwarenessMonth #healingjustice #mentalhealth

What does support mean? What does healing really look like? A lot of us think that healing is an endpoint, when the reality is we will be healing throughout the course of our life. As we are supporting each other through our healing journey’s and remind ourselves that it is important to slow down, because progress isn’t linear! From hatred towards Haitians, to misogynoir, ongoing war, genocide and continued attacks on trans folks—this election season has brought up considerable stress for our communities!! Sadly we know Election Day may not be any different. To help keep us grounded, BEAM will be holding Election Day Meditation Moments throughout the day led by Yolo Akili Robinson, Natalie Patterson, and Alli Simon. These guided, consent based moments will provide space for all of our communities to check in and reground as needed before and after you hit the polls! Share with your family and friends and join us!

In this political moment conversations on Black masculinity, sexual assault, and rape are dominating the news. During this time we want to highlight that the work of unlearning patriarchal masculinity is not only possible, but a necessary mental health and healing justice intervention for all of our communities. Our Black Masculinity (Re)imagined program was created for this purpose. BMR is led by our guiding principles which inform all of our work. Swipe through to learn more about our principles. Visit our website to attend a training and get involved! https://lnkd.in/ghzbbZCG

On #WorldMentalHealthDay, we are uplifting Healing Justice! Healing justice is active embodied intervention in the world that disrupts systems of oppression and supports collective spiritual, emotional, ancestral and environmental health. BEAM works to embody the principles of Healing Justice in every facet of the work that we do internally and externally. In our journey to understand what it means to us, here are some questions we have constantly brought to ourselves as a team to ensure we are heading in the right direction created by our Executive Director, Yolo Akili Robinson. This list is not comprehensive, but more of us sharing for other folks thinking about healing justice in their work. Want to learn more? Sign up for our newsletter in our linktree to attend a Healing Justice Training! Check out our Healing Justice Tool: https://lnkd.in/d_vUvbmS
