Are you struggling to find the perfect CEO for your company? It's an important decision that could define the trajectory of your business. According to an article by Boardroom Pulse, there are four primary criteria you should consider when searching for your next CEO: 1️⃣ Intelligence: Look for someone who can assess the economic environment, strategize solutions, and challenge assumptions. 2️⃣ Personality: A good CEO should be cordial, positive, ambitious for the business, and comfortable with risk. 3️⃣ Motivation: The best CEOs are driven not by ego but by the privilege of serving the company and the shared vision they have for it. 4️⃣ Learning Agility: This is all about the ability to adapt to changing circumstances, learn from feedback and mistakes, and transfer knowledge to other contexts. Keep in mind that not everyone is cut out for the role of CEO, but knowing a good one when you see one can reduce costly turnover and contribute significantly to the company's success. What do you think? What qualities do you value most in a CEO? Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. https://lnkd.in/gTg3kiA8 #Consulting #CEO #Leadership

🗣 "Artificial intelligence absolutely lends itself to the investment management industry but so does human interaction and active management in the traditional sense." Wealth managers are increasingly turning to artificial intelligence to enhance their investment decisions and improve efficiency, according to this thought-provoking piece by Joseph Wilkins in FT Adviser. Wilkins covers how firms like Quilter Cheviot, EBI, and Tam are incorporating tech into their everyday work, from streamlining portfolio reviews to being aware of misinformation derived from a flood of autogenerated responses without rigorous fact-checking in place to addressing greenwashing concerns. As AI continues to evolve, it's reshaping how wealth managers approach their work. What role do you think AI should play in investment management? 💬 https://lnkd.in/gKTqCqMb #WealthManagement #AI #Investment

Business leaders must not just keep pace with tech trends but also pilot the ship. Do you agree? Technology is at the forefront of any business’s innovation and success, but to successfully implement the right technology, you must be one step ahead of the crowd. Luckily, many industry experts can help you decipher which trends are worth following and exploring and which ones you should abandon. This Forbes article shares some of the tech trends to ditch and which to carry forward for the rest of 2024. ❌ All-in-one systems: According to the article, your business needs tailored solutions designed for it, so while all-in-one systems look convenient, they’re not always practical with your rapidly evolving demands. ❌ Disparate AI application: While everybody is still figuring out AI, the article states that the worst thing you can do for your business is to encourage your departments to use any type of AI. Instead, it would be best to establish guidelines on which AI tools to use and how to deploy them. ✅ No-code and low-code: Platforms that require no-code or low-code, such as AI, machine learning, or the Internet of things, with user-friendly interfaces and drag-and-drop tools, enable more rapid prototyping and accelerated solution deployment (even for those who can’t code).   ✅ Re-engineered products/services: People want brands to portray real life, not a perfect life, so re-engineer products and services with an emphasis on quality, craftsmanship, and storytelling and ensure you embrace authenticity. There’s never been a better time to be a CIO... Here’s why. There’s been a lot of movement for the CIO role in recent years. No longer just the person responsible for keeping the computers and technology running, CIOs now have a key role to play in business strategy and in collaborating with other departments. When Forbes spoke to Anjali Shaikh – managing director and US CIO Program Experience Director at Deloitte – this is what she had to say: “I see, from my perspective, the CIO heading up all the various tech roles that we’re seeing pop up. There is going to be this need for somebody to lead how all this technology-related capacity or capabilities within the organization is managed [and] aligned to drive business strategy. That role is going to be elevated. I have a hypothesis that we’re going to see more CIOs take on business roles. We’re already seeing that with CIOs taking on chief commercial officer roles or even P&L roles. I don’t think it’s too far-fetched to see more CEOs with that technology background as well.” What do you think? Have you noticed the CIO role shifting? You can find more of their conversation in Forbes’ July newsletter: https://lnkd.in/gKwS_ery #TechInnovation #TechLeader #ExecutiveSearch

Did you know that 67% of organizations say at least one of their board members has experience in a technology leadership role?  However, there are still gaps in how well the board and technology leaders connect on technology topics.  In fact, only 36% of board members report having complete confidence in their technology leaders, and more than four in 10 C-suite executives say their board’s oversight of technology matters is insufficient in scope or depth. That’s why it’s essential to focus on how CIOs and technology leaders can help elevate boardroom conversations.  So, how can CIOs and tech leaders do this? Here are some actionable techniques to try and drive more effective technology conversations in the boardroom: ✔️ Translate technical jargon to business needs – Technology leaders must simplify and present technological concepts in a way everyone understands. ✔️ Partner with the CFO to better articulate technology’s impact on the business – Board members want to understand the technology function’s contributions, financial implications, and risk terms, so working closely with the CFO can help tech leaders achieve this. ✔️ Consider a consistent structure for reporting and benchmarking – Creating a consistent set of technology metrics aligned to business outcomes ensures transparency around technology spending and how it links to strategic goals. ✔️ Engineer deep-dive technology sessions – Deep-dive technology sessions help CEOs and board members better understand emerging technology trends and thus have more information to make informed decisions. Check out the full article to learn more about these five techniques and get insight into more approaches: https://lnkd.in/gYGWV2b7  #Technology #CEO #CIO #TechLeader
