  • One of the biggest reasons we ditch our wellness goals? We’re not seeing results fast enough. The problem is, both building muscle and losing weight take time. The solution? We can turn the process into mini goals. ✅ Your overall goal can be to lose 10 pounds. However, your “process” goals can be to eat a certain amount of protein with every meal or to work out for ‘X’ minutes, ‘X’ times this week. This is tangible. You can see that you’ve reached these goals once you’ve completed them. As you focus on these process goals, you’ll eventually find yourself hitting your overall goal! Want to make health a habit?   • Welcome to Part 1 of our new series, Health as a Habit: Where we break down simple yet powerful ways to make wellness a habit in your life. ✅ We’re kicking things off by breaking down what a habit REALLY is so you can start building them. 💡 A ‘habit’ is a repeated behavior that occurs automatically in response to specific cues or triggers, often performed without conscious thought. There are five main things that need to happen for a behavior to become a habit: 1️⃣ It needs to become automatic. It should be a part of our daily routines! 2️⃣ It needs to be consistent. The more we repeat the action, the easier it is for it to come naturally to our brains! 3️⃣ It’s often triggered by a specific cue. For example, you see your running shoes, so you remember it’s time for a run! 4️⃣ It needs to be reinforced. This means there needs to be some kind of reward that encourages you to do it again — like feeling good after eating healthy! 5️⃣ Finally, habits require context. Meaning, if you repeat an action every day at the same time or in the same place, you’re more likely to do it again in the same context. For example, if you prepare a meal every night at 6:00 pm, you’ll be more likely to keep doing it! Want to make health a habit?   • Q: It’s vacation season — do you stick to your nutrition plan or take a break? 🏖️ A: It’s up to you and what you’re comfortable with! Truthfully, there’s a possibility that if you don’t stick to your nutrition plan while on a trip, the number on the scale might increase when you come back. That’s okay. That has nothing to do with your worth. You’re not a failure. It’s just a temporary change. Once you’re back, you can always pick right back up. If that’s hard for you now, or if your goal has a firm deadline, you can: ☀️ Continue tracking and sticking to your plan while on vacation. ☀️ Focus on adding protein and veggies to your meals so you feel your best. Whatever you choose, know that you’re never a failure. Vacations are meant to be enjoyed! Choose what you’re most comfortable with, and know that you can always get right back to crushing your goals!
