No one should be ashamed of who they are! BEL supports and celebrates Pride Month to recognize the impact that LGBTQIA+ individuals have had on history at all levels: local, national, and international. Pride Month is held in June to commemorate the Stonewall Uprising of 1969 in New York City. This was series of protests against a police raid that took place at Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in Greenwich Village and laid significant groundwork for the progress we see today. Happy Pride Month!
