Just a recruiter observation here and maybe the beginning of a rant. I will try to stay on the tracks but no promises. Have you ever noticed that hiring managers who provide timely feedback, don't drag out the interview process, and make quick hiring decisions coincidentally have low turnover, high employee retention, and satisfaction? Funny how that works. These are the clients and hiring managers we, as recruiters, love to partner with. They just get it. We wish they could all be this way and could recruit for them more often. Sad thing is they don't need us as often as we would like. Their hiring process and decision-making are an introduction of how they will be to work with and for. Their hires stay longer and have better morale. Less reason to leave equates to less need to find continual backfills. The bright side to working with these preferred hiring managers is, that we know we are placing candidates in a favorable, long-term situation. We know with confidence we are enabling a strong candidate to take the next step in their career with a proven leader. We also are providing the hiring manager with a talent solution to help them reach their goals with the organization. So, hiring managers that have turnover issues, take a look internally at your hiring process. It all starts there. Recruiters who have clients and hiring managers that are fantastic to work with and attract/retain top talent, treat them like gold. We do. Selfishly, we just wish they had more reason to call us....
