Welcome to Bell, an 85-year global producer of military and commercial, vertical-lift aircraft ↓
About us
Thinking above and beyond is what we do. For more than 85 years, we’ve been reimagining the experience of flight – and where it can take us. We are pioneers. We were the first to break the sound barrier and to certify a commercial helicopter. We were aboard NASA’s first lunar mission and brought advanced tiltrotor systems to market. Today, we’re defining the future of on-demand mobility. Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas – as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Textron Inc., – we have strategic locations around the globe. And with nearly one quarter of our workforce having served, helping our military achieve their missions is a passion of ours. Above all, our breakthrough innovations deliver exceptional experiences to our customers. Efficiently. Reliably. And always, with safety at the forefront. At a Glance: • Founded: July 1935, by Larry Bell • First helicopter flew in 1942 • Certified the first commercial helicopter in 1946 • First tiltrotor flew in 1955 • Nearly 60% of helicopters produced are Bell • 98% of all helicopter missions were pioneered in a Bell product • 8,500+ employee Nous pensons au-delà du vol. Nous avons redéfini l’expérience de vol – et où elle peut nous transporter- depuis plus de 85 ans.

FLRAA will usher in a new era of speed and range for Army aviation Like its Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey predecessor, FLRAA’s tiltrotor design radically alters expectations of conventional rotorcraft. FLRAA’s two Rolls-Royce AE 1107F engines allow a cruise speed of 280 knots. The V-280 demonstrator has recorded a max speed of 305 knots. FLRAA will allow the US Army to develop the fourth evolution of vertical envelopment, the Large Scale Long-Range Air Assault (L2A2). Currently, "we cannot actually do Large Scale Long-Range Air Assault today....What the Large Scale Long-Range #AirAssault is, is our ability to deliver one brigade combat team in one period of darkness over 500 miles arriving behind enemy lines able to conduct sustained operations." - Maj. Gen. Brett Sylvia, Commanding General for the 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army. #FLRAA #ContinousTransformation Army Futures Command I Army Futures Command Team I PEO Aviation I U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command I U.S. Army DEVCOM Aviation & Missile Center I U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence

"This next generation weapon system is a leap in technology, flying at twice the range and twice the speed of current US Army assets and includes a modular open system approach (#MOSA) giving it unmatched flexibility for future mission scenarios. "It will lead to a significant revolution in how the U.S. Army conducts missions, enhance its global responsiveness, and reduce deployment timelines and complexity." - Reed Anderson, Director, International Government Affairs #TiltrotorTechnology #FLRAA #FVL #V280 #ArmyModernization
