It's that time of year again... our juniors and seniors are preparing for their internships! We’re looking for opportunities for these talented & motivated students – learn more below. ✨ Our internship program runs from December 3 - March 7, with students available to work on-site or remotely from 1:30 - 3:45 pm daily. These internships are unpaid, as students receive high school credit for their work. Our students are eager to explore fields such as: - Art & Design (comics, character design) - Broadcasting (sports journalism, meteorology) - Construction - Data Science - Engineering (civil, structural, mechanical) - Law (criminal justice) - Machine Learning/Coding - Marketing (graphic design, social media) - Medicine (physical therapy, anesthesiology, neurology, bioengineering) - Scientific Research (biology) - Small Business (fashion) - Social Work - Teaching (math, speech therapy) - Veterinary Science - Video Editing If you, your organization, or someone you know could offer a student an opportunity in any of these areas, we’d love to connect! POV: It’s STEAM Friday in 3rd Grade ✨ Our third graders end each week with hands-on exploration! Last Friday, students had the chance to make bracelets & bookmarks with cardboard looms, test their skills in an interactive math computer game, and learn about liquid density through a sugar water experiment. These STEAM stations (which change every week) spark curiosity and give our students a variety of fun ways to engage with science, technology, engineering, art, and math. What an EPIC finish to our first-ever Homecoming Week! ✨ This afternoon, students gathered in our new gym for a pep rally, an awesome performance by our student band, Dead Blue Jays, and a students vs. faculty volleyball game. The faculty may have taken the win this year… but it was close!! Our younger students had a blast cheering everyone on from the sidelines. At Bennett, we embrace the mess! Hands-on learning often means paint-covered hands, like in this fun Senior Kindergarten (SK) project inspired by “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” ✨ After reading the story, one of our SK students suggested the class create a whole forest of “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom trees.” The idea was met with enthusiasm, and the students were determined to bring it to life. They gathered sticks on a class walk, voted on paint colors, and found the letters of their names to add to the art project. At Bennett, we are inspired by the schools of Reggio Emilia, and this approach is present throughout our entire PreK-12 experience.
