I've posted about The Legacy Ranch before on LinkedIn. They are a nonprofit client of mine, but this year I told them I wanted to do something on a volunteer basis and see if I could get them national coverage. I pitched their story to a team at CBS and within days heard back with strong interest. After a few conversations we were at the ranch in Lockport, IL where they conducted interviews. This Saturday (9.7) it all becomes reality when the ranch will be featured on the CBS national news during both their Saturday morning and evening broadcasts. I've never been more excited to watch the news! My hope is this coverage brings them additional support and resources so they can expand their magic and help even more people in need. I have trouble putting into words the magic I've seen at The Legacy Ranch. Its as amazing as the people are!

I recently had the honor of working with Rotary Means Business (RMB) to promote their first regional conference in Schaumburg, IL. I also covered the event from a photo / video standpoint and put together a quick highlight reel of what I saw. Spoiler alert, it was a great conference and I was so impressed, I joined Rotary! It's hard to avoid being caught up in the inspiration and motivation of my "brother" Andre Adams who closes out my video with his inspirational and forward thinking vision. The conference is already on track to be bigger and better in 2025, so I hope to see you there! Rotary Means Business Rotary International

My post-corporate life has been a whirlwind, but a rewarding and enjoyable one. As a business owner, a village trustee, a chamber board member and now a Rotarian, I sometimes don't know what hat I'm wearing. Earlier I posted about the American Legion Great Lakes Baseball Tournament that took place here in Carol Stream. I shot 14 baseball games in 5 days as a volunteer. I also designed the program for the tournament. I enjoyed the process of pulling the information together and laying it out, putting myself in the position of guest / parent coming from out of town to watch the game. I also enjoyed (to a lesser extent) the excitement of the deadline and as we waited to find out WHO was playing in the tournament. Here's a look at the final product. I'm looking forward to doing it all again next summer! https://lnkd.in/d_3_mrw8

I wore a few hats in the past several days- one as a business owner, one as a village trustee and one as a board member of the chamber of commerce. The Carol Stream Chamber recently partnered with our local #AmericanLegion to host 8 teams in the American Legion Great Lakes Baseball Tournament. Even though it was our first time hosting and there is always room for improvement, it was a big success. On a personal note, it brought be back to my youth when I would spend time at our little league baseball fields where my friends and I would ride our bikes and watch games. The safest places for me and my slower reflexes to photograph the tournament were from the two dugouts. I got to know some of the players who were mostly upper classmen in high school through the age of 20. They taught me about some of their rituals and a few things about baseball. Each of them welcomed me into their "dugout world" and for that I will always be grateful. The tournament was great for the Village of Carol Stream with families from around the Midwest staying within the village and taking in our restaurants and entertainment. Here are a few of my favorite photos from the 14 games I photographed over a 5 day span! Village of Carol Stream #sportsphotography #volunteering #americanlegionworldseries #baseball
