  • Grant De Roo kicked off his session this morning, “Understanding the Narrative: Brand Story Clarity and Its Effect on Enrollment Outcomes” by asking the room to consider how we are relaying information to prospective students. Telling a story is more effective than sharing vague information like the number of clubs & orgs or the size of campus in acres. “When we engage with a brand we are writing ourselves in to their story.” #ProfessionalDevelopment #HigherEdMarketing #BPS2024Symposium

Admissions Consultant & Project Lead at Best Practice Solutions

Excited to have attended the USC Rossier CERPP Conference 2024, a thought-provoking conference on defending equity in the wake of the SCOTUS decision on affirmative action. Engaging discussions, insightful speakers, and valuable connections made. This time presents a good opportunity for Higher Ed institutions to think strategically and reinforce DEI goals. I left the conference thinking about the EM teams that do not have adequate resources to have consequential conversations on how to recruit and yield a diverse group of students, and to provide professional development to their staff (while also dealing with FAFSA delays, enrollment decline, and staff turnover). How can these teams re-assess and be more intentional about their strategies? How do we get from conversation to policy to practice?
Grateful for the opportunity to work alongside our clients on these topics. The work truly never stops.
