BETA recently completed a 52-mile roadway survey in the beautiful capital city of Montpelier, Vermont, utilizing a LiDAR-based inspection approach to collect roadway condition data. Cyvl's technology generates AI-driven pavement condition scores, providing the state capital with the tools to prioritize roadway improvement projects and support data analysis for long-term planning efforts. In addition, BETA is conducting field assessments of sidewalks, curb ramps, and traffic signs using an ArcGIS Online driven system, enabling Montpelier to make data-driven decisions that enhance infrastructure planning, accessibility, and safety.

It’s National Estuaries Week! Estuaries are partially enclosed coastal areas where fresh and saltwater sources mix, creating unique habitats for plants and animals as well as natural protection from flooding. This week-long celebration reminds us how important these ecosystems are and why they must be protected. Climate change contributes to degrading estuaries, including rising sea levels, altering weather patterns, and ocean acidification. At BETA, our team of environmental scientists is ready to provide your community with ecological assessments and habitat restoration plans for any ecosystem. With an emphasis on promoting biodiversity and long-term sustainability, our experts can navigate challenges to help you achieve your goals on time and on budget. Community members who have experienced flood damage are invited to complete a Flood and Stormwater Questionnaire. Learn more about the study and take the survey: https://lnkd.in/esdaXJgk Be sure to tune into our free Coffee Talk webinar with CSS tomorrow morning at 9 am! It’s National Roundabouts Week! Hosted by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), this week reminds us of the life-saving benefits that roundabouts can have in communities. According to the FHWA, roundabouts: - slow traffic speeds, resulting in safer conditions for multi-modal transportation - lead to less idling, and in return lower vehicular pollution - can reduce costs over time compared with signals, as they do not require equipment installation, power, or maintenance BETA regularly designs roundabouts to improve the safety and connectivity of the communities where we live and work.
