Milano Digital Week 2024, held from October 10-14, is a distributed event focused on digital innovation and the intersection of #AI and human expression. It includes 107 locations across Comune di Milano downtown, 310 speakers, and multiple thematic hubs exploring topics like Industry 4.0, #digitalhealth, and AI in media. The event serves as a platform for citizens and businesses to engage in discussions about the future of digital transformation. The central hub at Palazzo Giureconsulti offers activities and sessions designed to connect participants with cutting-edge developments in digital culture, fostering collaboration between innovators and the public.  On Saturday 12th of October, from 14:30 to 15:30, Datrix | Embrace the AI Challenge, Ospedale Pediatrico Vittore Buzzi, and CNR IFN participated to a dedicated events at Palazzo Giureconsulti where our innovative Better AI Health project has been presented to general public and key messages around healthcare data security, medical data research via federated network of hospitals, EDAH - European Data Space in Health, AI as decision support system for clinicians, why genomic analysis is crucial for rare diseases, have been presented and discussed. The event was a notable success, engaging a diverse audience that actively participated in discussions, asking insightful questions throughout. Participants especially appreciated the research efforts addressing #healthcare challenges in a well-structured, EU-coordinated approach. This demonstrated the event’s emphasis on the intersection of digital innovation with crucial sectors like healthcare, allowing attendees to delve into future-forward solutions in a collaborative setting. The thoughtful integration of healthcare topics highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary efforts in shaping digital transformation in Europe. Our project partners from Aston University went to the 18th International conference on Laser Applications in Life Sciences to represent the BETTER Project. In the conference's own words: LALS is a biannual conference series that draws around 150-300 participants from over 30 countries and is held in various locations. The conference is one of the leading events in the area of laser applications in life sciences, at the edge of laser physics, photochemistry, photobiology, photobiomedicine, and biophotonics. The aim of LALS-2024 is to provide a global platform for researchers, engineers, and physicians to present and discuss recent optical techniques and innovations aimed at applications in life science. We hope to bring together professionals and scientists from various areas of life sciences to introduce novel biophotonics methods to healthcare professionals, encourage knowledge exchange, and promote the establishment of cooperation ventures. https://lnkd.in/dw8HaGAy 

For the Italian speakers: Milano Digital Week 2024 - Artificial Intelligence The widespread and collective event in the city of Milan focusing on digital development and innovation dedicated to citizens, businesses and institutions is back for the seventh year. This year’s theme is Artificial Intelligence. The event has a wide palette of workshops, and panels. Our project coordinator Matteo Bregonzio, PhD from Datrix | Embrace the AI Challenge is taking part of the panel “AI and data: How Italian technology improves medical research and treatments”, joined by Stephana carelli (member of the medical scientific consortium of the BETTER project) from OBM Ospedale dei Bambini Buzzi Milano ets and Renzo Vanna from Politecnico di Milano.
