Promoting Peacebuilding in Amhara with Social Communication Strategy. BEZAD Solutions is proud to announce the successful completion of a Social Behavioral Communication Strategy (SBCC) project in collaboration with Pact Ethiopia's Mela for Peace project! This initiative focused on promoting peace and social cohesion in the Amhara Region's 'Qimant' and 'Kemise' towns. Through a comprehensive approach, BEZAD Solutions: ** Conducted a Rapid Formative Assessment to gather vital information from community members to understand their current knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding peacebuilding. ** Developed a Tailored SBCC Strategy, based on the assessment findings, a customized SBCC strategy was created to address the specific needs and communication channels most effective in the target communities. ** Produced Educational Materials: - Peer Learning Guide; Peace Messages in Amharic and Oromiffa; SBCC TOT Training Guide: Delivered Training of Trainers (TOT); empowering 22 participants with the knowledge and skills to: - Understand the dynamics of conflict and its emotional impact. - Apply SBCC principles for effective peacebuilding communication. - Recognize the stages of social change and tailor messaging accordingly. - Grasp the importance of social cohesion and their role in peacebuilding. - Plan and implement successful peer education programs. By equipping communities with the tools and knowledge to promote peace, this project lays a strong foundation for a more harmonious future in the Amhara Region. We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of our comprehensive training program, in partnership with #GIZEthiopia designed to empower young women in the Sidama and Oromia regions with essential Sales Skills and Social Marketing (#SASM) as well as Menstrual Hygiene Management (#MHM)/Menstrual Health and Hygiene (MHH). The primary objective was to equip 150 #women to become self-employed sales agents for reusable sanitary pads. Over the course of this initiative, we designed the training and developed accessible training manuals and materials. Our training sessions, conducted across Yirgalem, Bishoftu, and Sendafa, spanned from October 2023 to March 2024. These sessions not only imparted vital entrepreneurial skills but also raised crucial awareness about menstrual health. We provided comprehensive training to 179 participants, significantly enhancing their entrepreneurial skills while fostering a positive change in their communities. We were thrilled to partner with Pact Ethiopia and present on the crucial role of Social Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) in peacebuilding. Our presentation highlighted how strategic communication can nurture resilient communities by fostering understanding and unity. We emphasized the importance of effective communication strategies in advancing peace and promoting a more harmonious society. It was a great experience and a good opportunity to prove that #SBC works beyond health. Kudos to #PactEthiopia for the initiative.
