In honor of Veterans Day, BGI Security would like to thank and recognize some of our employees who have served in our military. Mr. Bryan Nelson has been with BGI Security, LLC and our parent company Banda Group International, LLC for the past eleven months. He currently serves as the Security Operations Manager. Bryan served in the United States Marines for four years and have achieved the rank of E-4 (Corporal). Bryan joined the military for personal obligations and for personal development. Bryan had ultimately pursued a career in law enforcement and felt that joining the military before would give him an advantage to his competitiveness in his candidacy. Following his recruit training, at Marine Corp Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina, and Marine Combat Training at Camp Gieger, North Carolina, Bryan attended his military occupational specialty training at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center located at 29 Palms, California. Bryan was then assigned to the Marine Air Support Squadron Six in Chicopee, Massachusetts. Serving in the United States Marines allowed him to personally grow and develop values and leadership traits that are embodied in every Marine. The disciplines he learned in the military allowed him to eventually graduate college and develop and execute a plan for his life. It allowed him to become a driven individual and to never stop chasing his goals. Bryan felt that serving our country’s military is the highest level of commitment one could give back. He’s blessed and proud to be an American.

Today, Marines around the world proudly celebrate the 248 years of defending our great nation. Our warrior lineage in the battles that have been fought and won across generations have become legendary. Throughout the centuries the Marine Corps' relentless pursuit of excellence is unchanged. We are still made from the same grit and steel, with the same moral instincts, and the same unending will to fight. Marines remain physically, mentally, and emotionally tough, forged in the crucible to overcome fear and adversity. In these ways, the Corps and the lifelong faith we place in each other is proudly unchanging. The Marine Corps' identity remains the same. Our infantry battalions will remain at the center of what we do, and the Marine and their rifle will continue to be one of the deadliest weapons on the battlefield. But being ready now requires us to return to the seas and shores of maritime terrain. As Marine brothers and sisters, Semper Fidelis is a pledge that we promise to live by. The work of our Marine Veterans is a living testament to the faith Marines keep with each other, with our Corps, and with our country. The next generation of Marines may operate differently and in different places than the Marines who were the Eagle Globe and Anchor today. But they will join a long and proud heritage of Marine fighters who have never turned from a threat., never turned from an enemy, who will always remain most ready when our nation is least ready. Because we must protect our shores and we must protect our citizens. It's still going to be the Marines who defend this nation. Semper Fidelis and Happy Birthday Marines!

In honor of Veterans Day, BGI Security would like to thank and recognize some of our employees who have served in our military. Mr. Zeferino Banda III, has been with BGI Security, LLC and our parent company Banda Group International, LLC for the past 16 years. He currently serves as the Vice President of Safeguards & Security. Zef served in the United States Navy for eight years and have achieved the rank of E-5. Zef joined the military to continue a family tradition, personal obligations, and for personal development. Zef’s father, grandfather, uncle, and three great uncles all served in the armed forces, and he wanted to continue that family legacy of serving our country. In 2012, Zef deployed to Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa (CJTF HOA), Camp Lemonier, Djibouti, Africa. During his time in service, Zef also supported the following units: Joint Force Maritime Component Commander (JFMCC), COMTHIRDFLT, Point Loma, San Diego, Assault Craft Unit 1(ACU-1), North Island, San Diego, and Joint Mobile Ashore Security Terminal DET Bravo, NSA Bahrain. Serving in the United States Navy allowed Zef to personally grow. The disciplines he learned in the military allowed him to graduate college and develop and execute a plan for his life. It gave him the first opportunity to develop leadership skills. Zef was mentored by others in the enlisted and officer ranks. He applied what he learned in the Navy to how he leads today. It also gave him the ability to travel to places he had never been before and work with coalition forces from all over the world. (i.e., Canada, Australia, South Korea, Japan, Great Britain, France, Bahrain, Djibouti). Zef is most proud of achieving the rank of Petty Officer Second Class. This rank gave him more responsibility and leadership opportunities, he was able to lead other sailors below him, and this development allowed him to achieve the rank of E-5.  Zef sensed an obligation to serve our country. He’s blessed to be an American and wanted to give back to our country that has given so much to him. Zef also wanted to challenge himself both physically and mentally and be a part of something greater than himself.

Although we try to avoid physical altercations, we know in the security industry it can and will happen. That is why we at BGI Security, train our guards De-escaltion and Defensive Tactics to protect themselves and the public. During a recent training session, our BGI Security Trainer is demonstrating how to break free from an arm grab. These techniques are great tools to have in the toolbox for everyday life.
