Today, October 11th is International Day of the Girl and National Give to Women and Girls Day, founded by the Women’s Philanthropy Institute   Join us in celebrating the Women of our agency, the Big Sisters, Little Sisters, Female Parents, Guardians, and supporters!   One of the ways we are focused on women is through our EmpowHER Giving Circle. Through a combination of volunteerism, financial support, and building connections, this group focuses on empowering the potential of all the women impacted by the mission of mentorship at BBBS.  This year, the group has delivered flowers on Mother Day, threw a parent's night out party, and is helping out with Halloween activities for our Matches.   Interested in learning more? Fill out this form to learn more: https://lnkd.in/g_4hNWWC   Together we look foward to lifting up women and girls in our community!

⚽️ Soccer dreams coming true! ⚽️ We had an unforgettable day with KC Current and our presenting sponsor, Bank of America, hosting 50 BBBSKC Matches for an incredible soccer clinic! 🌟 From fun drills to a Q&A with pro players, our Matches soaked in every moment, leaving with new skills and awesome swag bags. 🙌 The energy, smiles, and thoughtful questions from our Littles made it a day to remember. Shoutout to everyone who made this experience unforgettable!

Feel Good Friday: From Little Brother to Lifelong Brother! This week’s story is truly something special. Big Brother Shane has had the joy of watching his Little, Chase, grow from a fun-loving preteen into an amazing young man over the last 7 years. Shane shared, “I have been lucky enough to watch Chase grow from a goofball preteen into an incredible young man whom I love like family. We have been paired for more than 7 years now, and Chase has gone from being my Little Brother from Big Brothers Big Sisters to my ‘little’ brother (he is taller than me now) and one of my groomsmen in my wedding.” From preteen to a groomsman, Chase and Shane’s journey is proof that the connections made here last for life.
