John's first Match was with then-7 year old Matt. 24 years later, they still see one another every few weeks! After Matt graduated from the program, John was Matched with Tamique for 9 years. Tamique went on to college at MIT but still visits regularly. What a special relationship these three have with one another! Today, several of our Matches got the special opportunity to attend the San Francisco 49ers Training Camp. After watching an all-star practice, Littles got to meet and interact with players, who even signed their shoes! BBBSBA's Associate Board is composed of professionals who generously dedicate their time and talents to support Big Brothers Big Sisters' mission of creating and supporting 1:1 mentoring relationships to ignite the potential of young people in the Bay Area. This remarkable group raised an impressive $99,250 for our programs in the past year, marking a significant milestone. A BIG shoutout to our incredible leader, Andre Dawson, ARM, for his leadership of this new Associate Board over this past year and a half as he steps down from his role as Chair. He has dedicated eight years to our agency, and we are forever grateful for his time and dedication to our mission. With his passion, we’re thrilled that he’ll continue to be a member of the Associate Board. Thank you for all you’ve given to our mission, Andre. A BIG welcome to our new Associate Board leaders: Chair. Julie Larios Resendez, a former BBBSBA team member (Match Support Specialist) turned dedicated Associate Board member. With her previous role on our program team and passion for fundraising, Julie brings a unique perspective. During her daytime job as the Community Relations Manager at ADHERE, she engages with the community to foster meaningful relationships and holds additional volunteer roles as the Finance Director on the Silver Creek Women's Club Board, and Vice President of Public Relations at Toastmasters Los Gatos.We look forward to partnering with Julie and know she’ll lead the Associate Board to another record-breaking year! Vice-Chair. John Badstubner, CNP, an Enterprise Account Director for Nonprofits at ServiceNow.org, focuses on helping mission-driven organizations achieve their goals. Prior to this, he held a similar role at Salesforce.org, bringing valuable experience and insight into the nonprofit sector. John is particularly passionate about supporting organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area (BBBSBA) and has been an active member of our Associate Board for the past two years. His dedication to advancing nonprofit missions is evident through his ongoing involvement and leadership in the community. Camila and her Big Amanda have been Matched for 10 years, and Camila will be studying psychology at American River College with plans to transfer to Sacramento State. Miles and his Big Landon have been Matched for 9 years, and Miles will be attending Cal State LA to study biology in the fall.
