We recently hosted a visit from LEAP (Leadership | Education | Altruism | Philanthropy), where we provided an insightful tour of the Big Hearts of Fox Valley facility. For many students participating in LEAP, this hands-on experience marked their first opportunity to delve into the workings of charitable organizations like ours. In their first year of LEAP, students dive deep into understanding how these organizations operate and the impact they have on our community. One of the most exciting aspects of LEAP is that students have the incredible responsibility of deciding how to allocate $20,000 in grant money to 501(c)(3) organizations within Kane County. This decision-making process involves thorough research, teamwork, and careful consideration of each organization's impact. During their visit, students had the chance to apply what they've been learning through the LEAP curriculum, including researching organizations, analyzing financial reports, and understanding the valuable projects and programs happening right here in our community. We're grateful to LEAP for providing this enriching opportunity for students to engage with philanthropy and make a real difference in Kane County.
