The swift destruction caused by Hurricane Helene in and around Asheville, NC, has deeply affected our team, friends, clients, and fellow B Corps, underscoring the scale and urgency of the climate crisis. It is imperative that we stand together. There are 15 B Corps in and around this region, and many of them are small businesses that will go months without revenue, need to rebuild, restock, and so much more. In a town full of incredible artists, delicious craft breweries, and world class restaurants, there is also a need to take care of team members who will be out of work for the foreseeable future. B Local Asheville created a Small Business Relief Fund to support these businesses. We invite you to donate if you are able — your contributions will go a long way for the community.

📣 Calling all B Corp friends and fans of the amazing business community in Asheville & Western North Carolina. Right now, they need supplies. But long-term, they need us to step up. That cafe on the corner you had brunch at (and the cook and server that took great care of you). 🍳 That brewery you ended your night at (and the bartender that made sure your glass wasn't empty). 🍺 That little art gallery you stumbled upon (and the artist who scrapped and saved to rent their own space). 🖼 That delicious chocolate you sampled at French Broad (and the chocolatier that made it). 🍫 These small businesses need us--and every penny will help. We've partnered with B Local Asheville to create a fund that they will oversee and disperse to B Corps and small businesses that need us now more than ever. So take that virtual Fall trip to Asheville and help these businesses rebound so they'll be there when we visit in person next year. Donations are tax deductible and can be made here: https://lnkd.in/eNBUYgTV

The destruction from Hurricane Helene has hit home for many friends, clients, fellow B Corps, and two of our own team members located in Asheville, NC. This area was thought to be a haven from the growing climate crisis. Helene's destruction underscores the urgency of the situation and that we are all in this together. Contributions can go a long way to helping those in need. See below for details on how you can support these communities.

🚨 Asheville B Corp Community Fundraiser Details 🚨 It's hard to imagine that just three weeks ago, we were in Atlanta celebrating all of the beauty that was BLD Southeast. Last week, Hurricane Helene ripped through our region and greatly impacted seven of our states, but no one was more deeply devastated than our friends in Asheville and Western North Carolina. Homes and businesses were destroyed, towns were swallowed whole by massive flooding, and many are still cut off and without power, gas, water, and basic shelter. B Local Asheville Chair Adrianne Gordon has been communicating their needs and the list is overwhelming. In the short term, they need basic supplies. And she is currently driving back and forth between South Carolina and Asheville to bring much needed supplies back to her neighborhood on the edge of Biltmore Village, which was badly flooded. They've received zero supplies or assistance yet, and she is one of the lucky ones whose house is OK and car is drivable. 👉 For immediate assistance, you can venmo Adrianne at Adrianne-Gordon-4 (last four 2643). 👉 She also mentioned BeLoved Asheville as another organization on the ground doing the work that can use the funding. https://lnkd.in/e8ecd78k Either way, your contribution will go a long way to get people the basic necessities (food and water) that they need to survive. 👉 Since internet and cell service are still nonexistent, if you have immediate questions, you can reach out to Nathan A. Stuck, MBA or Kaley Cross Warner, who is from Asheville and making supply runs back and forth from her home in Raleigh. In addition to this, there are also 15 B Corps in this region, and many of them are small businesses that will go months without revenue, need to rebuild, restock, and so much more. In a town full of incredible artists, delicious craft breweries, and world class restaurants, there is also a need to take care of team members who will be out of work for the foreseeable future. With that in mind, we created a Small Business Relief Fund for you to contribute to. Adrianne and her board will determine the greatest needs and the best ways to support our fellow B Corps and beyond. 👉 DONATE HERE: https://lnkd.in/dVPPsPkJ Let's step up for our community and wrap our arms around this region and these people. ❤️ 🤗

Hello from Climate Week NYC! Big Path Capital Founder & CEO Michael Whelchel is in the city for the important week-long event. Earlier this week, Big Path partnered with Ethic to co-host a discussion with Climate First Bank & Topo Finance about the carbon footprint of banking. The conversation explored how traditional banks may use deposits to loan to fossil-fuel-intensive companies. Panelists, including Michael, offered advice on how to enhance the impact of cash in the real economy. Michael also had the opportunity to visit the NYSE with Climate First Bank's CEO Kenneth LaRoe. Cindy LaRoe also pictured. We're thrilled to be part of the conversation and action to repair our world and secure a resilient planet Earth for generations to come.
