Chief Marketing and Communications Officer | Transforming Brands & Driving Growth | Delivering Impactful Strategies | Creating Engaging Customer Experiences | Leading Digital Marketing Innovation
There was so much energy at today’s Digital Marketing for Financial Services Midwest event. I had the opportunity to speak to financial services professionals about elevating marketing to a strategic function in an industry shaped by strict regulations, intermediaries, and complex B2B relationships. I shared a few key insights: - Collaboration is key. Partnering with departments like IT, legal, and compliance is essential for marketing to elevate its role. Using a structured framework like a strategic advisory group brings the most important stakeholders into the conversation, allowing for more effective discussions and insights—one of the most critical paths to success. - Beacon projects are powerful. Identifying and executing small, self-contained initiatives within larger efforts helps demonstrate marketing's impact early on, creating momentum through early wins. - Intermediaries matter. In highly intermediated industries, it’s crucial to treat intermediaries the same way we treat customers—understanding their motivations, behaviors, and drivers to better align with their needs. - B2B dynamics are complex. The second "B" isn’t a homogenous group—it’s a collection of decision-makers with diverse needs and incentives. Successful strategies must consider this complexity. Ultimately, when marketing is a partner in crafting business strategy, it goes beyond traditional tactics. Marketing becomes a true driver of measurable value. #DMFSMidwest2024 #DigitalMarketing #FinancialServices

Congrats to our client Carol Montoya on this honor. It is great working with you!
PMR president Carol Montoya was honored last month by her alma mater, Hood College, with the Distinguished Alumna Award. The award recognizes an alum who has made significant professional and/or volunteer contributions to society. Outside of work (there is such a thing!), Carol is on the board of the Lee-Mt. Vernon Sports Club, National Capital Soccer League, and Edison Athletic Boosters, and is active with the Hood College Parent Advisory Council. She's been recognized for her professional work by clients and industry organizations. During her remarks, Carol talked about the impact of the paths we take: "No matter what we did before Hood or where we landed after, we have the shared experience of Hood. After the time that has passed, that can always bring us together with a common appreciation for how Hood shaped our lives." #pmrevents #pmramcadventures
