📉 𝗜𝗦𝗚 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗿 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 🏗️ In a recent twist, it has emerged that the financial deficit at ISG, initially believed to be 𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 £𝟮𝟬𝟬𝗺, is actually far greater, according to claims made by its buyer. Due diligence revealed that the losses were significantly higher than first anticipated, raising concerns about 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 and 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 in the construction industry. This revelation underscores the importance of thorough financial oversight and due diligence, particularly in an industry where large projects and complex contracts are the norm. It serves as a crucial reminder for firms to ensure they have robust financial controls in place to avoid unexpected shortfalls. As we continue to navigate challenging economic times, the lessons learned here will undoubtedly have wider implications for how financial risks are managed across the sector. 🏗️ 𝗗𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗛𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗶𝘁𝘁 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 '𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿' 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲 🔥 In the ongoing discussion about improving building safety, Dame Judith Hackitt has voiced strong concerns, warning that focusing on the idea of a "super regulator" is a distraction from what really matters. The chair of the 𝗛𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗶𝘁𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 emphasizes that instead of creating a single regulatory body, the industry should concentrate on 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲, better compliance, and ensuring 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 at all levels. The key takeaway: improving safety standards goes beyond regulations—it's about adopting a proactive mindset and fostering collaboration across the sector to prevent future tragedies like Grenfell. As the building safety conversation evolves, it's clear that cultural shifts, proper risk management, and clear responsibility will drive real change.  For more information - https://lnkd.in/daPDrXVr #BuildingSafety #Construction #RiskManagement #Accountability #HackittReview #Regulation #FireSafety #CultureShift #BIM4Housing #BIMinAM
