J.D. Power reported this week that 13.5% of drivers shopped for new auto insurance in May—matching an all-time high—and 4.2% of shoppers switched insurers, the highest ever recorded. Carriers and product providers: if you're not offering curated choice to your customers, now is the time to consider it. When you don't have a product a customer wants, or if the customer doesn't fit your current risk profile, offering choice allows you to still meet their needs by placing them with another provider. You'll show the customer that you're committed to helping them (even if it's not through a product of your own) while still monetizing the relationship and gathering valuable information about the customer's purchase decisions. Then when you're ready with a new product or willing to reassess a customer's risk, you'll have maintained the relationship and can use the gathered business intelligence to effectively pursue the sale again. We're so proud of Katie Schultz, our VP of Client Relations, for moderating the conference's opening session, "The Changing Face of Affinity Distribution," alongside Kevin Garvin of Gallagher Affinity and Paul Lubbers of WTW. Attendees learned about industry trends and future predictions for affinity distribution. We also enjoyed spending time together as a team and with our valued partners and industry friends.
