Where Bacteria Loves to Live

About us

Clean ponds start here! BioBoost Nest is an earth-friendly boost for bacteria that will change the way you treat pond problems. Our subsurface bioremediation units harness the natural power of beneficial bacteria to fight unwanted algae, reduce odor, improve water clarity and support a healthier pond ecosystem. Nests are a long term solution that keeps bacteria continually optimized to maintain beautiful water, often reducing or eliminating the need for chemicals. Pond bioremediation keeps water safe for people, pets, fish and wildlife. Nests help you save labor costs, reduce chemical reliance, meet regulatory requirements and address concerns of constituents. Our patented media is the same that is used in industrial wastewater treatment, but scaled down for recreational ponds. We are installed in ponds located at some of the most prestigious golf courses in the US as well as at botanical gardens, equestrian farms, homeowners' associations, zoos and resort properties. We have a knowledgeable, passionate, U.S.-based team hard at work and available to answer your questions about our Nests. We're here to help change the way we clean water, one pond at a time.

Taken from Nature? Well, yes! Our underwater bacterial habitats are designed a lot like coral reefs or gravelly lakebeds. These are places where beneficial bacteria flourishes, balancing nutrients and preventing destructive algae blooms. Our Nests have many of the same features as these natural nesting sites: - Corrugated surfaces of fine nooks and crannies for greater colonization area and optimal biofilm development. Like the narrow pits in coral, or the niches between small rocks.    - Inner matrix to disperse and ease water flow for more contact between dissolved oxygen and the microbial communities. The same way reefs or rock beds naturally channel and moderate water flow.    - Sturdy, enclaved structure that protects beneficial bacteria from water disruptions like flushing or weather events. As reefs and layers of pebbles naturally provide shelter for microorganisms. So, yes, we did it: We took our inspiration directly from Nature, and we admit it proudly. #sustainability #cleanwater #natural

Your next required service date is…never. Not ever. Because when we say our bacterial habitats are zero maintenance, that’s straight talk. The day you put a Nest in your pond to house your beneficial bacteria might very well be the last time you see it. Nests are intricate structures, but there’s nothing fragile about them: - The durable, inert material won’t break down underwater. - No moving parts means nothing to come loose. - Weighted legs and low structure profile keep Nests in place, even during water turbulence. And since bacterial colonies naturally slough away dead layers, Nests won’t clog. They just keep working and working. When we check in with our very first clients from years ago, they haven’t had a reason to pull up a Nest yet. In fact, a few have forgotten what their Nests look like! They just know their ponds look great. If you’re ready to incorporate our bacterial habitats in your ponds, get ready to snap a photo. It just might be the very last time you see them. Nonexistent service never sounded so good.   (Featured photo: PGA West in La Quinta, California. Thank you for being one of our first clients, many years ago.) #ponds #sustainability PGA WEST®, The Club at PGA WEST, and The Citrus Club

Do you know where your bacteria is? Are you a believer in beneficial bacteria? We are too! But…is your bacteria homeless? If you are inoculating your ponds but they don’t have adequate nesting sites for bacteria—and most constructed ponds don’t—you aren’t making the most of your inoculations. Weather events, flushing events, dredging or other pond maintenance can quickly reduce or wipe out your bacterial population. Our nesting sites protect your bacteria from being flushed out of the water column. And Nests give bacteria a place to multiply, maximizing the potency of your inoculations. BioBoost Nest is intricately structured to mimic Nature’s own design that you find in coral reefs or gravelly lakebeds—perfect for bacterial health. Now, here’s the BEST part of what we can do for your ponds: We will supply our Nests for FREE when you sign up for an inoculation program as designed by Natural Lake Biosciences. You get a customized bacteria subscription for three years and we immediately ship you the Nests for your ponds that will make your inoculations as effective as possible. Contact us by DM or through our website and we’ll set you up. No more runaway bacteria! #ponds #bioremediation

Disco sloth and…golf course ponds? Read on. We talk to a LOT of golf course superintendents. And we hear more and more interest in eco-friendly agronomy choices that will minimize chemical footprints and foster biodiversity in their green spaces. We can’t help with your entire operation, but we can help in one area: your ponds. Adopting a pond bioremediation program improves your sustainability assessment in several categories considered for the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses ( https://lnkd.in/gSz4wdX5 ), a certification from Audubon International.   We are delighted to be a sponsor of Audubon International and to support their initiatives for biodiversity on golf courses. Read the results of their recent #BioBlitz campaign (and see our favorite pic of the year—a sloth striking a disco pose on his fairway!) in Golf Course Industry magazine ( https://lnkd.in/e6wa8juK ). Ready for more sustainable pond care? Let’s talk.

Thank you superstars! When we started our little company with a product that had no precedent, we found our early believers in the golf course industry. It was primarily golf course superintendents who listened and learned about a different way to solve an old problem. And, one pond at a time, one superintendent at a time, these customers became our friends and advocates. Today is Thank a Golf Course Superintendent Day. We recognize all the superintendents who bring the highest standards to their roles as hosts, agronomists, logisticians and environmental stewards. We understand the fine balancing act between ensuring the ideal guest experience and cultivating nature in golf course green spaces. And we thank you, our superintendent clients, for supporting our product and vision. We wouldn’t be here without you. You are our superstars. #ThankASuper GCSAA Photos featuring: Tyler Truman - Sun City Palm Desert Arron Mccurdy - Shoreacres Golf Club Gerry Tarsitano - Hideaway Golf Club David Dudones - Westchester Country Club

The winners are in! Audubon International's annual #BioBlitz campaign saw golf courses from the US, Canada and Latin America gather nature lovers to their green spaces to observe and record the wealth of wildlife. Check out the Golf Course Industry article for award recipients...and a killer photo of a posing three-toed sloth. BioBoost Nest is thrilled to be this year's BioBlitz sponsor. #sustainability #greengolf

Are your ponds feeling the heat?   Summer pond care can mean more work, more money and more headaches when you’re relying on chemicals to battle algae.   In higher temperatures, algae develops faster. You treat more often. It works, temporarily. But the algae comes back.   We have a different solution for you. And right now, it’s free.   Let beneficial bacteria do the heavy lifting. A robust bacterial population in your pond kills off algae and continuously prevents regrowth.   Less labor. Less expenditure. Less hassle.   The timing couldn’t be better. We are providing FREE BioBoost Nest bacterial habitats when you subscribe to our inoculation plan, designed by Natural Lake Biosciences, for your pond.   We’re ready to ship. Just let us know you’re interested and we’ll get you set up. Visit https://lnkd.in/g8Yzq9Fc or DM us!   It’s time to worry about one less thing.
