About us
Maryland Tech Council's workforce development initiative, BioHub Maryland, accelerates the life sciences industry for companies and job seekers to expand Maryland’s global innovation advantage. BioHub Maryland provides skills training to underserved communities, Veterans, high school students, and current life sciences employees so they can upskill into rewarding careers in this high-paying industry. BioHub Maryland recently entered into an exclusive agreement with the National Institute of Bioprocessing Research & Training (NIBRT) that enables BioHub Maryland to offer NIBRT’s world-renowned biopharma manufacturing curriculum to equip Veterans and members of disadvantaged communities with the skills they need to enter this fast-growing field in Maryland. BioHub Maryland also helps life sciences startup companies grow by training the next generation of life sciences talent and providing strategic resources for raising capital.

Today, we had the privilege of attending the welcome ceremony for Bora Pharmaceuticals, celebrating their acquisition of Emergent’s Baltimore-Camden manufacturing facility. We witnessed a symbolic moment as Joe Papa, President & CEO of Emergent BioSolutions, passed a ceremonial football to Bobby Sheng, Chairman & CEO of Bora Pharmaceuticals, marking the start of a new chapter for the facility and the community.
