The search for treatments for rare diseases presents a significant challenge, but there's hope on the horizon. A new artificial intelligence tool is speeding up the discovery of therapies by exploring how existing medicines can be repurposed to help. The AI model, named TxGNN, is the first of its kind designed specifically to identify potential drug candidates for rare conditions that currently lack treatments. This advancement brings renewed hope to patients with rare and orphan diseases, as well as to the healthcare professionals treating them.
