This week (4 – 11 November) is #MedSafteyWeek, a campaign that takes place annually to raise awareness about the importance of reporting suspected side effects from medications. The theme for 2024 is ‘the importance of using medicines in the right way to prevent side effects, and to report side effects when they do occur’. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This disease is one of the most common cancers in the world, with over 5,000 people being diagnosed every month. Patients with breast cancer are more than a statistic; they are a family member, a friend, a co-worker, and are more than their diagnosis. In our most recent episode of The Patient Voice Podcast, we spoke with breast cancer survivor Maimah Karmo, who was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) in 2006 and went on to become a global leader in women's health. Today, 1 October, is International Gaucher Day (IGD), a day focused on raising awareness of Gaucher disease. This year marks the 30th year anniversary of the International Gaucher Alliance (IGA), which brings together Gaucher Disease patient groups from across the globe who work closely with Gaucher patients and their families and caregivers.    Further information on this ultra-rare disease, including challenges faced by patients and families and efforts to secure treatment, can be found by visiting the IGA and participating Gaucher patient groups. #InternationalGaucherDay #IGD #IGD2024 #BionicalEmasSupports
