Tonight the Utah Delegation on the governor’s trade mission to Korea and Japan (sponsored by World Trade Center Utah) were guests of Ambassador Rahm Emanuel at a reception at the Ambassador’s home in Tokyo. He was a most gracious host and we were able to network with other life sciences executives from Japanese companies also invited to the event. Thanks to our life sciences team that participated. Pictured are Mike Kirkness of 3Helix, Chris Lowe of Nusano, Chad Pollard of Renew Biotech, Dwight Egan & Richard Abbott of CoDiagnostics, Senator Kirk Cullimore, Kelvyn Cullimore of BioUtah, Seth Egan of CoDiagnostics and Derek Wessman of Jataki our local guide who helped arrange most of our life sciences meetings in Japan. It has been a successful trip. Thanks to the team at WTCUtah for all the hard work. #wtcutah #lifesciemcesutah #utjapan2024 #goglobalut #utsouthkorea2024

BioUtah, in collaboration with a patient advocacy coalition that includes life sciences leaders, pharmacists, physicians, oncologists, and community organizations, hosted a productive lunch meeting with Reps. Blake D. Moore (R-Utah) and Celeste Maloy (R-Utah) on Oct. 1. The discussion focused on how pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) are driving up drug costs and restricting where patients can purchase medications. The event took place at the Utah Cancer Specialists administrative offices. Earlier that day, local and federal leaders, including FTC Commissioner Melissa Holyoak, met with Utah Pharmacists. We are thankful to Reps. Moore and Maloy for their commitment to addressing PBM practices that negatively impact patient care. Together, we continue to advocate for meaningful PBM reform. #PBMreform #BioUtah #UtahLifeSciences #HealthcareReform More: https://ow.ly/WaM650TEz82
