For Jamya Dickson, Birmingham Promise made a difference in her college career. Through her student success coach, she was able to gain access to resources and have a mentor to help her navigate challenges she faced during school. As we celebrate her graduation from Alabama A & M and reflect on five years of Birmingham Promise, help us continue to fulfill our promise of supporting the next generation of scholars. Your donation helps us provide student success coaching for all Promise scholars, so they can have the guidance and support they need on their journey to graduation. https://lnkd.in/gmhyJB7U https://lnkd.in/gXiFxDb7

As we celebrate our fifth anniversary, we asked a few of our college graduates about their time as a Promise scholar. To Samantha Harris, being a Promise scholar meant feeling supported and worry-free. With her tuition assistance, Harris only had to focus on her education, not her finances. Celebrate five years of Promise with us by supporting our current and future scholars! Donate today at https://lnkd.in/gmhyJB7U.

Last month, we said hello to our LARGEST internship cohort! Each month, our Promise interns gather for a professional development day, where we work with them on their resume, interview skills and workplace skills. Thank you SO MUCH to our current employer partners for believing in the next generation and helping us provide these valuable internships to our students. Our program would not be possible without your partnership. Interested in getting involved with our internship program? Email us at info@birminghampromise.org.

Yesterday, Promise staff met with the City of Birmingham Department of Youth Services to learn more about what our city is doing to invest in the next generation and to share our mission of making postsecondary education a reality for students. Thank you for everything you do to ensure the future of our city is bright! #education #scholarhsip #nonprofit #internship

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who donated during our 40x40x40 challenge! We were able to raise over $3,000 in just 40 days! This will help provide valuable tuition assistance to our Promise Scholars as they begin this next semester. The campaign was set up to celebrate the 40th birthday of our executive director, Samantha Williams. Join us in wishing Sam a happy birthday and saying #thankyou to our new donors! We wouldn't be able to offer Birmingham City Schools seniors high-quality internships without the help of our employer partners. These businesses across Birmingham are willing to hire one or more of our interns to work for a semester, and their teams offer wonderful mentors and role models. And we are always happy to accept more! If you think you'd be interested in partnering with us, visit https://lnkd.in/gtW2WAcm and complete the interest form. Let's get to work!
