Great insights on why upgrading from basic licensing is a critical for improving security.
Why Upgrading Your Office 365 License is Critical for Security- its time for applying basic level licensing to END! Many companies settle for the basic license tier in Office 365 due to budget restrictions and cost-savings, overlooking the crucial security features that come with higher-level licensing. While it might seem like a cost-saving move, it actually leaves your organization vulnerable to serious threats! Lower-tier licenses lack essential security features like configuration and implementation of conditional access policies, and enforcing multi-factor authentication (MFA) on your end users. These are crucial to blocking unauthorized sign-ins and reducing the risk of phishing attacks, and account compromises. One common issue we often see is users signing up for random applications with their work email, exposing your business to potential breaches. By upgrading to a higher-tier Office 365 license, you unlock these advanced protections and ensure your cloud environment is secure. It’s not just an option—it’s a necessary investment to safeguard your operations. Common access concerns that Conditional Access Policies can help with. -Requiring multifactor authentication for users with administrative roles -Requiring multifactor authentication for Azure management tasks -Blocking sign-ins for users attempting to use legacy authentication protocols -Requiring trusted locations for security information registration -Blocking or granting access from specific locations -Blocking risky sign-in behaviors -Requiring organization-managed devices for specific applications So here's the real question: Are you still relying on Azure Basic Licensing and leaving your organization exposed to preventable threats? Now is the time to evaluate if sticking with basic licensing is worth the risk to your business. Don’t wait until it’s too late.....

Are your cloud environments leaving you exposed? Many companies opt for basic licensing in systems like Azure or Office 365, not realizing they’re sacrificing security. Elevate your defenses by upgrading your licensing to access essential features like conditional access policies and multi-factor authentication (MFA). Don’t let phishing attacks compromise your operations—take proactive steps to safeguard your systems #Utilities #Cybersecurity #CloudSecurity #Phishing
Many organizations rely on cloud platforms like Office 365 and Azure, but are they fully using the security features available? We often see companies, including water utilities, stick with basic licenses, assuming they’re enough—but these can leave major security gaps. - Basic licenses lack essential security features like conditional access policies and multi-factor authentication (MFA). - Higher-tier licenses give you the ability to lock down sign-ins and block unauthorized access. - Conditional access policies can be set up and forgotten, ensuring consistent protection without constant monitoring. It’s like locking your front door and thinking your whole house is secure. For industries like water utilities, where phishing attacks are still a major threat, the right protections make all the difference.

The real key to success in the cybersecurity field isn’t just about collecting degrees or certifications—it’s about developing hands-on skills and putting them to use. Whether you're learning through a bootcamp, degree program, or leveraging the wealth of free information available, what truly matters is how you apply that knowledge to solve real-world problems. We can’t help but notice— Neal Bridges rocking that BitLyft shirt! Stay curious, stay sharp, and keep growing.

🎓💻 Are Bootcamps Really the Problem? Or Is It the Whole System? There’s a lot of skepticism surrounding bootcamps in cybersecurity. Some say they’re scams—but let’s be honest, is the situation any better with degrees and certifications? I understand why these programs exist, but I want to challenge you to face the fact that some degrees, certs, and bootcamps may not be all they promise to be. Here’s the uncomfortable truth: You can pay tens of thousands for a degree or cert and still be unprepared for the real world. 😬 Why? Because cybersecurity isn’t about a piece of paper—it’s about skills, practical experience, and critical thinking. 🔑 And the truth is, much of the information you need to succeed is already out there for free. So before you invest in any program, ask yourself: What will you actually learn? 📘 Will this make you better in the field, or just give you a title? 🏷️ Are you paying for a shortcut, or real skills? 🚀 Don’t get caught in the hype. It’s not about whether it’s a bootcamp, cert, or degree—it’s about what you do with the knowledge and experience you gain. 🌱 The point is this—once you finish that degree, cert, or bootcamp, did you truly learn something? Can you put that knowledge to the test and help harden someone’s security posture? If the answer is yes, then maybe those programs were worth it for you. But if not, maybe it’s time to study more and focus on developing the necessary skills. Either way, I want you to be aware of the reality. Remember, certifications and degrees can help open doors, but they won’t guarantee success on their own. What really sets you apart is how you apply what you learn. 💡 Don’t just settle for the title—strive for mastery. Cybersecurity is an ever-evolving field, and the best professionals never stop learning, experimenting, and growing. 🌱 So, invest in your skills, challenge yourself daily, and remember—it’s not the letters after your name that will make you stand out. It’s what you can actually do in the real world that counts. 💪 In this stream, we talked a lot about the current state of cybersecurity and the challenges of landing a job, whether you’re entry-level or experienced. I want to highlight the need to separate yourself from the rest. We’ve discussed the importance of projects, write-ups, home labs, and more. Show companies what you can actually do through hands-on experience. Certifications and paid programs are great, but you can accomplish the same through projects and self-initiated work. If yes? then go do it!! 💪 Be honest with yourself and be skeptical when handing over your money. Ask yourself, "Can I learn this on my own?" 💡 Check out the full stream: https://lnkd.in/ePHEZth #Cybersecurity #SkillsOverCerts #TechEducation #CriticalThinking #Bootcamps #Certifications #CyberCareers #shorts #reels #linkedin
