👻 Halloween is a great time to bring festive fun into the workplace! As employees get ready to dress up, setting clear costume guidelines can help keep celebrations professional, inclusive, and enjoyable for all. Costumes should align with company policies and dress codes, with a focus on safety and respect for everyone. Avoid anything that could be considered offensive, political, or overly revealing, and ensure costumes allow employees to work comfortably. Participation should be voluntary, respecting those who may not celebrate Halloween. Employers may also consider seasonal team-building activities that are fun and accessible to everyone. By fostering a respectful and inclusive atmosphere, companies can create a Halloween everyone can enjoy! 🎃 #Bizhaven #HalloweenAtWork #InclusiveWorkplace #WorkplaceGuidelines

🌡Reminder: Indoor Heat Illness Prevention Now in Effect🌡 The new indoor heat illness prevention regulations, effective as of July 23, 2024, must be included in a business's Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) or as a separate document. These regulations apply to most indoor workplaces, including those with air conditioning, in the event of power outages or rising temperatures exceeding 82°F. Key requirements include: 🌡 Providing at least one quart of water per hour for each exposed employee. 🌡Monitoring and recording indoor temperatures or heat index levels. 🌡Establishing emergency procedures and staff training protocols. 🌡Exemptions apply to employees working in temperatures below 95°F for short durations and those teleworking from home. This standard was adopted by the Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board and aims to prevent heat-related illnesses in the workplace.
