This past Saturday, October 12th, marked the final session of our “Owning the Peace” program with young professionals from 27 countries, all alumni of the @American Councils for International Education's FLEX/YES programs. In this session, we explored the theme "Peace as a Beacon," focusing on standing strong amidst life’s challenges and letting our peace illuminate the way toward greater happiness, prosperity, and well-being. These young leaders truly inspired us with their commitment to maintaining inner peace for their well-being and navigating challenging circumstances. It was an absolute honor to be in the presence of such brilliant thought leaders. A heartfelt thank you to Darius L. for building the platform that made these meaningful dialogues possible, to Amie Sanneh for keeping our conversations vibrant on social media, and to Humberto Barba for mastering Zoom and adding depth to our sessions. (Thanks for figuring out the music!) A special thank you to Aknur Berdigulova for accepting the invitation to work with your group AND participating yourself – that was a real treat!
