Live from the VHA Innovation Experience in Chicago! Today VHA Under Secretary for Health Dr. Shereef Elnahal announced a new partnership between VA and the FDA to launch a testing ground for health care-related AI tools. This follows an executive order from President Biden in October 2023, outlining guidelines around the safe and secure adoption of AI across the government. Blackberg is proud to have supported from both a project management and communications standpoint in standing up this interagency Health Artificial Intelligence Lab, which serves enhance VA's ability to utilize this advanced technology to provide the best and state-of-the-art care to Veterans. October 13 marked the 249th birthday of the United States Navy! The birth of the US Navy traces back to 1775, known as the Continental Navy, which was established during the War of Independence with two ships. As of today, the U.S. Navy has approximately 470 ships in its arsenal—the world's most powerful navy. Blackberg thanks all active and reserve duty Navy and Navy #Veterans for defending freedom of the seas, at home and abroad. As a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, our Co-Founder and President, Emily Uhl, served 12 years, both on active duty and with Navy Reserves. Blackberg is proud to support the nation’s Veterans and Armed Forces through our work.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day, observed on the Second Monday of October, recognizes Native Americans for their resilient contributions to American history and culture. Although recognized as a state holiday dating back 100 years, Indigenous Peoples’ Day was federally proclaimed in 2021—celebrating the diversity of American Indians, Native Alaskans, and Native Hawaiians while also reflecting on historical mistreatment and recognizing the inherent sovereignty of Tribal Nations. Blackberg is proud to support American Indian, Native Alaskan, and Native Hawaiian Veterans through our work with the Department of Veterans Affairs, such as providing communications support to Mission Daybreak and Televeda's "Hero’s Story," a platform that provides a virtual or hybrid space where Veterans can access emotional support services, rooted in traditional Indigenous healing practices and care.

September 15-October 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the contributions of Hispanic Americans that have influenced our Nation’s history, culture, and achievements.
