Blackberry team members Katie Powers, Gentry Boles and Brian Lee were honored to represent the team and attend the grand opening and celebration dinner of Maryville College's new Downtown Center! The Downtown Center is a place for the college to meet the community and serves as the hub for their new Hospitality and Regional Identity major and Fermentation Sciences minor. Blackberry is a proud supporter of Maryville College and their efforts to expand opportunities for hospitality majors and future leaders in the industry. Join us in celebrating that Brian Lee, Blackberry Farm’s director of guest relations, won the University of Tennessee, Knoxville's Alumni Service Award! The Alumni Service Award recognizes exceptional service or long-term continuing service or leadership to UT. This award highlights individuals or organizations who have given significant amounts of time, talent or resources to the university. Brian has made an impact on students teaching classes in the Retail, Hospitality and Tourism Management department, and was their graduation commencement speaker this past May. We are so proud of Brian's continued service and leadership to the next generation of hospitality talent. Being recognized out of hundreds of thousands of alumni is incredible, and it’s our honor to work with Brian. For the month of August our team collected gently-used books to donate to the Blount County Friends of the Library in preparation for their September book sale. Our goal was to donate 1,000 books to this cause – just under 1 book per team member. However, we exceeded that expectation and were able to donate 1,830 books! Blackberry also generously matched by giving a monetary donation of $3,500. We hope others in Blount County enjoy every single page coming their way! #BlackberryFarm #WeAreBlackberry
