On Wednesday 8/21, the University of Tennessee celebrated the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the highly-anticipated new building for the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee. MHM is honored to participate in the groundbreaking alongside our design consultant Robert A.M. Stern Architects out of New York, and Construction Manager/General Contractor Blaine Construction. Located at the heart of campus at the corner of Cumberland and Volunteer, the building will be the largest academic building in UT history. The 240,000 SF building will feature 18 classrooms, two 300-seat auditoriums, three research laboratories, and a new home for Haslam College’s seven departments and executive education program. The building will also house the Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ACEI) and the Boyd Center for Business and Economic Research. MHM’s team is excited to contribute to this important addition to the UTK campus and the difference the new building will make in paving the way for future generations!

Productive day in Roane County! First stop was a visit with the TCAT Harriman construction class educating them about careers in Masonry with Dustin Love from MIT! Then headed over to the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Harriman. This will be a beautiful state of the art facility and a huge educational milestone for Roane County! When they wanted to introduce their new athletic training center, I felt like flying a high-speed drone in and around the facility would serve the project well. Webb School of Knoxville’s new Clark Wormsley Hitting & Pitching Complex and the Bailey Family Fitness & Training Center are officially open. MHM designed the new hitting and pitching facility with two hitting and two pitching lanes for the school’s softball and baseball training programs. The complex also features dressing rooms, restrooms, and ample storage for equipment.  The new Bailey Family Fitness & Training Center offers Webb athletes, students, and faculty a state-of-the-art facility focused on athletic training, health, and fitness. The building hosts a cardio space overlooking a dynamic weight room and high-bay turf practice area. The center also features Webb’s Sports Hall of Fame, an exercise/classroom space, and a golf simulator.
