Wow! What a crazy freak'n week. By Tuesday, we had 3 trailers filled with pallets of water, tanks of gas, generators, chainsaws, baby formula, food, gloves, tools, and much more. By Wednesday 5am, we were on the road heading toward the only open road from the north into the Asheville area. In the aftermath of Helene, friends in Asheville were mobilizing. Operating out of the French Broad River Academy, this group of outdoor educators, kayakers, and raft guides we're gathering and distributing emergency supplies. About 100 volunteers are sending as many as 60 Sprinter vans per day filled with supplies up into effected mountain areas. Performing wellness checks, evacuating people from houses, and scouting the destroyed riverbeds and wreckage for people in need. They were boots on the ground before FEMA arrived and will be working on rebuilding after they are gone. Meanwhile back at home this week, the Props Labs team sprung into action themselves. In about 5 hours, Calvin Hoenes, Bob Ullery ☁ and Kevin Nuest built an Ai enabled helpline to support the deluge of supply requests from across the region. I'm just so incredibly proud of all these humans that showed up in time of crisis. Every last one of us. It's going to be a long recovery. But we're here for it. I'm gushing.
