Advertising & Public Relations Graduate Student • UGA Graduate Assistant, Office of Serivce-Learning
On Friday, I completed my summer internship at BlazerWorks. It's hard to believe that I learned so much in just a few months! I am grateful to have been given the chance to work alongside the BlazerWorks Business Account Managers, who were each so patient and encouraging as I learned the ropes of placements, job orders, and contracts. I feel so honored to have spent a summer assisting a company focused on improving the lives of special education professionals. Thank you Quantasia Herndon and Blake Christy for your mentorship and guidance! One unique aspect of this internship was the opportunity to diversify my learning by taking on tasks outside of my department. When I wasn't assisting the BAMs I was helping train new hires, running the front desk and facilities operations, and shadowing various marketing leaders of Soliant and its sister brands. Thank you Jessica Williams for teaching me how to operate and manage the many tasks of a corporate headquarters's front desk. Having a behind-the-scenes perspective on a company and its processes was truly amazing. Additionally, thank you to Tera Tuten Rowland, Maleah Watt, Courtney Widman, and Kendall Smith for allowing me to shadow each of you for an afternoon. What a privilege to learn about marketing from four different perspectives and roles! Thank you to my home base department of BlazerWorks, and thank you to everyone I met along the way! This was a great journey🤗💖
