SUPREME RETAIL STORE FINAL PHOTOS — This mixed-use renovation in Cook County included de-converting the building from 5 to 4 dwelling units with full interior & exterior renovations. We also designed and engineered a commercial unit shell, which went on to become a Supreme retail store on the first floor. Here are the final finished photos of Supreme up and running in the commercial space we designed. Overall, BLDG Projects completed the architectural design and renovation plan for all 4 stories including the commercial ground floor unit. FULL RENOVATION + NEW CONSTRUCTION ADDITION — After a couple of months, this projects’ rezoning is finalized. At this time we will be moving on to the final construction bid set. ON-SITE DIGITAL PROJECT PLANNING — This year BLDG Projects implemented a system that involves adding a QR code linked to our project portal at each of our sites. CHICAGO CORNERSTONE BUILDING RENOVATION — Rendering is an art form that AI programs cannot match to streetside hyper-realistic elements. Here at this project, we are starting with redesigning the exterior of a cornerstone building in Chicago. This building is across from the original IBM building and down the street from Bertrand Goldberg's Marina Towers. The previous location was Public House and most recently Radio Room. VIOLATION CORRECTIONS + FULL RENOVATION + ADU LEGALIZATION — Construction is nearing completion for this residential renovation project in Avondale, Chicago. This project consisted of violation corrections, interior and exterior renovations to (3) dwelling units of the existing 2-story masonry building apartments with a garden, and legalizing (1) ADU in the existing rear section of the building, totaling (4) dwelling units with an additional repair and replacement of the rear porch. This property required extensive repairs throughout and was suffering from severe water damage, and BLDG Projects was tasked with bringing this building back to life. NEW RULES FOR CHICAGO LICENSED CONTRACTORS — This is a public service announcement for licensed contractors in Chicago regarding the new rule for inspections from the Department of Buildings. As of August 2nd, if your new construction or renovation permit was issued on or before September 7th, 2023, and you have not yet requested and passed any inspections, the permit is suspended. You must obtain a reinstatement permit, and pay a reinstatement fee, before you can continue. If you passed an initial inspection more than one year ago, and additional inspections are required, your permit is also suspended. If your permit is suspended, you must obtain a reinstatement permit and pay a reinstatement fee before you can continue. If the same permit was issued on or before September 11th, 2022, and you have not yet requested and passed any inspections, the permit is expired and cannot be reinstated. You will need to apply for a new permit to begin or continue the project. These new rules from the Department of Buildings will require a new resubmission of your project and more than likely will add 2-4 months minimum to your project. MULTI-FAMILY RENOVATION & ADU ADDITION — This project in Lincoln Square was recently approved and construction is now beginning in partnership with Grace Street Renovation Lab. BLDG Projects completed the architectural and engineering design for interior and exterior renovations to the existing 3 units in this multi-family building, plus the legalization and addition of an ADU on the basement level.
