  • The mid-season, seedless black grape Sweet Sapphire™ is known for its elongated, tubular shape and deep purple hue, making it particularly appealing in markets that value unique fruit shapes. With high vine vigor and an optimal Brix of 18-20º, it delivers exceptional fruit quality and longevity, aligning perfectly with consumer preferences in South Korea and across Southeast Asia, where sweet flavor and excellent post-harvest performance are highly valued. These distinctive characteristics, combined with its crisp, juicy texture, have made Sweet Sapphire™ one of Australia’s top exports to the region!

  • Empowering growers through knowledge! 🍒

The Cherry Extension and Communication Project Team have had a blast the last 2 weeks delivering the National Cherry Vigour Management in Tasmania, South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales with the Netherlands cherry canopy management expert Ronald Vermeulen 🍒 We had over 150 growers, advisors and researchers join us for the workshops. A big thanks to BLOOM FRESH who partnered with us on tour and Hort Innovation for support in delivering these to the Australian cherry industry. Looking forward to planning our next lot of workshops coming soon! 🍒 🌱 NSW Agriculture

  • The use of paper bags at De Vlei Boerdery (Edms) Bpk to protect each Sweet Globe™ bunch is a great way to ensure quality and consistency in grape production. 🍇 A careful process for an exceptional eating experience!

We are in the process of harvesting Sweet Globe™ grapes in the Hex River Valley. When visiting our vineyards on De Vlei, you might wonder “why don’t I see any grapes, only paper bags”? We employ the use of paper bags to individually cover each and every one of our Sweet Globe™ grape bunches. While this process is very labour intensive, doing so has several benefits, including the following: • If offers protection against rain, • And also protects against damage caused by birds and certain insects, • It reduces sunburn and yellowing, • And helps to achieve more consistant colouring – that beautiful milky green colour. The ultimate goal is to ensure more uniform looking grapes and a more consistent eating experience. Enjoy! #devlei #hexrivervalley #sweetglobe BLOOM FRESH #betterquality #moreconsistent #eatingexperience #southafricantablegrapes #enjoy

  • Cherry season is on its way! In the commercial fields of Vidrio Fruits in Spain, the flowering of our varieties has already begun. This year marks the third production, and Cheery Crunch™ is leading the way under macro tunnels, with 80-90% flowering. Growing cherries under tunnels offers a significant advantage, accelerating production and providing protection against heavy spring rains, especially crucial in this region, where May has seen frequent downpours in recent years. Stay tuned as we follow the journey from blossom to harvest! 🍒✨

  • Last week, Bloom Fresh™ sponsored and collaborated with Cherry Growers Australia in the Cherry Tree Vigour Management Workshop series, where expert Ronald Vermeulen shared valuable insights with growers and industry specialists. 🌱 A key takeaway from the workshop was the growing interest among growers in optimizing cherry orchard canopy architectures to balance vegetative growth and reproductive potential. Discussions highlighted innovative approaches founded by Ronald Vermeulen, offering practical solutions to the widespread challenge of managing vigor. This sparked important conversations on rootstock selection, cultural practices for vigor control, and the consistency of our cherry varieties in cropload management. At Bloom Fresh™, we continue to drive innovation in the cherry industry, supporting initiatives that help growers optimize their orchards and adapt to the challenges of climate change. Thank you to all attendees for your participation! 🍒✨
