Our Mental Health Collaborative has made strides in uniting resources and advocating for greater mental health support here in Bloomington. None of this would be possible without the support of our community-minded partners like Old National Bank (ONB). ONB’s commitment to improving mental health goes beyond financial backing – they’re leading by example, showing how local businesses can prioritize well-being for both employees and the community. “We want to be part of the solution,” says Scott Shishman, Region President of ONB. “Businesses can lead the way in changing how we approach mental health – both internally and community-wide.” Read more about ONB's inspiring role: https://lnkd.in/eEYP8_kg

What an incredible weekend at the Hoosiers Outrun Cancer 5K! This special event brings our community together to honor and support those impacted by cancer — a cause close to our hearts at Bloomington Health Foundation. We're proud to have participated as a Medal Sponsor, standing alongside Old National Bank, Rogers Group Inc. & Rogers Group Investments, and Indiana University School of Medicine in making this event possible. A huge shoutout and thank you to the amazing volunteers from the Indiana University Student Athletic Board who made this event run smoothly! Our latest article highlights an important initiative tackling healthcare inequities for Bloomington’s unhoused. With over 6,000 people experiencing homelessness in Indiana last year, Bloomington is seeing a rise in those needing help. HealthNet's Street Medicine Team is stepping up by bringing medical and psychiatric care directly to people on the streets and in shelters. This approach helps break down barriers like insurance issues and transportation, offering compassionate care where it’s needed most. Our partnership with HealthNet, Inc. supports this critical work, helping the team expand their reach and make a real difference in people’s lives. Over 100 local policymakers, first responders, social service providers, business leaders, and philanthropists joined us at Woolery Mill as we announced a multiyear, multimillion-dollar investment dedicated to enhancing mental health and substance use disorder outcomes in and around Monroe County. We heard an incredible presentation from Douglas Huntsinger, Senior Advisor to Governor Holcomb and member of the Governor’s Cabinet, and a lively Q&A moderated by Dan Peterson, Vice President Industry & Government Affairs at Cook Medical. We want to thank our sponsors that made this event possible - thank you to our lead sponsor Old National Bank, and event sponsors Weddle Brothers Construction and German American Bank. We recognize that no single organization can tackle the mental health crisis alone, and that’s why we’re dedicated to leading this collaborative effort, uniting diverse stakeholders to drive local and state-level action.
