Taking Safety to the Next Level As part of Blue Bird's Next Level Safety announcement, a school bus crash test was performed at IMMI's premiere testing facility, CAPE, in Westfield, Indiana. The simulated crash test demonstrates the added safety Blue Bird buses provide passengers in the event of an accident when equipped with three-point seat belts and driver air bags, compared to the dangers passengers face without the added safety features. Watch the video to see the importance of making the safest vehicles on the road even safer for passengers, drivers, and everyone on the road.

Did You Know: Blue Bird propane-powered school buses are equipped with ROUSH CleanTech propane autogas engines, and release 90% fewer nitrogen oxides than the EPA’s strictest standard. Compared with buses powered by conventional fuels, propane school buses emit fewer greenhouse gases, smog-producing hydrocarbons, and nitrogen oxides and virtually eliminate particulate emissions. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will award school districts with nearly $1 billion of funding for clean school buses through the 2024 Clean School Bus Rebate Program. Connect with the Blue Bird Grants Team today to learn more about the program and how we can help you secure funding for low-emission, propane school buses: https://hubs.ly/Q02TDsR10

Molecularly identical to conventional propane, renewable propane is being used to fuel low-emission fleets. With the same energy content and usability, the transition from conventional to renewable propane is seamless, as demonstrated by Beaverton School District. Learn more from special guest Blue Star Gas about how renewable propane is produced, as well as how school districts are using it to fuel their propane school buses in the the latest episode of the Bird's Eye View podcast: https://hubs.ly/Q02T4ND60

Electric Savings Orange Unified School District strategically leveraged state and federal funding opportunities to acquire electric buses at a reduced cost. The district now saves even more in operating costs, estimating it spends approximately 22 cents per mile to charge the electric buses compared to over a dollar per mile for diesel buses. These savings, along with reduced maintenance needs made electric school buses an economical choice for the district: https://hubs.ly/Q02S-Yyw0 Interested in funding opportunities available now? This morning Blue Bird proudly presented the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) Heroism Award to Wisconsin student Acie Holland III. Earlier this year, when a medical emergency left the bus driver unconscious, Acie bravely took the wheel, straightened the bus’s course, and safely brought it to a stop. We had the privilege of sponsoring and presenting this award to honor Acie for his courageous actions. We thank him for his quick thinking and action.
