🌟 Exciting news for Lexington! 🌟Reimagining the Civic Commons has awarded a $750,000 grant to support local efforts that will transform public spaces into vibrant, walkable and inclusive places for everyone. This 3-year initiative will bring together Blue Grass Community Foundation, CivicLex, the Mayor’s Office, the Division of Planning and the Division of Parks & Recreation to create policy-driven solutions that foster social connection and strengthen our community. 🤝 This RCC team is on a mission to build a healthier, more connected Lexington. Thanks to this investment, we’ll make parks, trails, and green spaces more accessible and welcoming for all! 🌳💚 We’re thrilled to be a part of the Reimagining the Civic Commons network and a recipient of national investment to revitalize public spaces in ways that benefit communities. 🌟 Celebrating a legacy of generosity! 🌟 The Hudson-Ellis Fund, established by lifelong Danville resident Lottie B. Ellis, has just awarded $130,000 in nonprofit grants and $45,000 in scholarships to support Boyle County residents. With these new grants, the Hudson-Ellis Fund has now surpassed $2 million in charitable support to the community! 🎉 Lottie’s love for Boyle County led her to establish two permanent endowment funds at Blue Grass Community Foundation through a legacy gift. Representatives from 26 Black-led, Black-serving nonprofits gathered yesterday to celebrate the success of the inaugural Lexington Black Philanthropy Week and to collect their fundraising checks – totaling an incredible $120,229.34! We are deeply saddened by the loss of Scotty B. Patrick, a beloved friend of Blue Grass Community Foundation and a true champion for Magoffin County. Scotty’s remarkable legacy includes founding the Magoffin County Community Foundation and creating “Magoffin County Community Day,” which has raised an astounding $1.5 million for area nonprofits. His generosity also extended to the $5 million donation that made the Magoffin County Community and Technical Center a reality. Scotty’s dedication to his community was unmatched, and his impact will be felt for generations to come.
