Bochner PLLC’s Jeremy Doberman and Paul Fraulo won a defense verdict at trial last week in the New Jersey Superior Court, Chancery Division, in a case involving a complex $2.75 million real estate fraud with multiple closings. The trial entailed blistering cross-examination and detailed examination of more than 100 trial exhibits, all of which yielded the conclusion that the plaintiffs were unable to pursue their claims due to their own unclean hands. Having been retained with only a month to prepare for trial, the Bochner team achieved a full dismissal of all claims against our clients after eight intense days in court. By the time the plaintiffs rested, we were well positioned to move for a directed verdict—which the Court granted in our favor. #TrialWin #bochnerpllc

Bochner PLLC is proud to announce a major victory for Edward Paltzik and our Constitutional Law Group!   The case is Hunter et al. v. Cortland Housing Authority, 5:23-cv-01540, Northern District of New York.    Last week, Judge Glenn T. Suddaby of the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York approved a permanent injunction which overturns Cortland Housing Authority’s former ban on possession of firearms in government-funded apartments.    With the entry of this injunction, tenants are now permitted to own and possess firearms within their residences, engage in lawful self-defense and defense of others in common areas, and transport firearms to and from their residences.    The injunction mandates that Cortland Housing Authority and its administration must ensure that all future versions of the lease comply with the Second Amendment “in all respects” and further restricts the defendants from censoring the speech of any person on their social media.    Finally, the defendants are required to pay the plaintiffs’ attorneys fees incurred during the litigation.
